What we want to hear
Is we are dear.
What we want to see
Is we are we.
What we want to know
Is we are bold!
But what we want is nonsense.
What we are is of the consequence.
What we are is mortals mere.
What we are is only thee.
What we are is tears untold.
Because of this we can't resist the lure of speciality.
We believe in the dream of perfectibility.
If not right now, perhaps in perpetuity.
And if not we, then maybe me!
Maybe it's me who is to achieve
that which others disbelieve!
And that is the myth of the perfection of man.
Human nature never changes.
Technology rearranges.
Methods become obsolete
Plans become complete.
But nature is resolute.
No man is so astute as to convolute
or edit that which is the root.
The fear, the anger, the self-doubt.
The selfishness that is all about.
Any more than one would want to edit out
the love, the compassion, the friendship.
The sacrifice we cannot do without.
We are all both sides of the same coin.
Those that claim otherwise are those that devise your demise.
By leading you with false premise you end up in their mess!
Giving to others that which is yours and yours alone:
Choice. Responsibility. Liberty.
So resist the lure that man can be cured.
Participating in prosperity puts poverty in perspective.
Because no one can deceive the man who believes he is the master and master alone of his destiny.
