The Mucusless Diet

Ehret's Mucusless Diet is not the same as Dr. Christopher's

Anyone ever try this? I am going to experiment with it for a week or two to see if it works.

allergies....sinus drainage....heavy mucus....can't breathe!

I've been on the Mucusless Diet Healing System by Arnold Ehret for about 10 years. I had some thyroid problems along with a lot of allergies and was tired of the medical establishment charging me for a bunch of "care" that did nothing to help cure me. I checked into natural healing and found the work of Arnold Ehret. If you want to know about the Mucusless Diet, I would go with Ehret and not Dr. Christopher. Ehret coined the term mucusless in 1922 and wrote the definitive book. Dr. Christopher stole the word mucusless in 1967, never even credits Ehret, and claims that certain foods, like fish, are okay to eat on the diet. Eat whatever you'd like, but know that fish has no place on a mucusless diet. And word to the wise, focus on the Transition Diet. Too many people have ignored the transition and then have ended up in bad shape. No need to rush.

I highly recommend checking out the new Annotated Mucusless Diet by a long-term practitioner Prof. Spira. It has the original text, with notes in the margins explaining a lot of things. He also has a bunch of free info on his blog: mucusfreelife. Although I'd read the original 10 years ago, this version answered questions I even had.

If you have any more questions about the Mucusless Diet, just let me know.

Be well!

Jobs did NOT Practice the Mucusless Diet Healing System

ah I just discovered in my research that Steve Jobs was a proponent.

Steve Jobs is dead.

Mucus free diet = death?

Jobs did not "practice" the Mucusless Diet Healing System as prescribed by Arnold Ehret. When Jobs tried it, he totally skipped over the Transition Diet and tried to be a raw fruit-eater. This is exactly what Ehret said not to do. A huge part of the diet is systematically transitioning away from bad foods to better foods, nothing cold turkey or extreme. And Jobs was not into the mucusless diet when he died. From what I understand, he'd went back to the medical establishment by that point. Here is a really good article on Jobs failure to practice the diet properly: Prof. Spira on Steve Jobs, Ashton Kutcher, Arnold Ehret, Radical Raw Fruit Diets, and the Transition. This is also a relevant article about the importance of the transition portion of the diet: Art of the Transition. The media jumped on trying to defame Ehret's diet when given the chance because empowering people to take their health into their own hands would take a lot of money and power away from the medical establishment bankers. Hard to make money on drugs people know that they do not need.

Hope this is helpful.

Some of that is ridiculous and won't necessarily work very well depending on how you balance it.

Do's: Pastured eggs, pastured/grassfed/wild meats, seafood, organic vegetables and fruit, coconut oil

Don'ts: Grains, sugar, vegetable oils, go light on the starches

Maybe's: After you cut out the don'ts, if you still have mucus/allergies, cut out dairy EXCEPT for grass fed butter and raw milk if you can get it. You can slowly add in things like good yogurt and grass-fed dairy, see how your system reacts.

This is horrible and it's a shame it is on Christopher's website, as it does not represent the real Mucusless Diet at all. On one hand, learning to transition off of the worst foods is really important to the Mucusless Diet and not emphasized by Christopher, secondly, chicken and seafood are considered to be pus-forming and not part of the mucusless diet at all. Check out this list of recommended food items for a Mucusless Diet transition which includes mucus-free and some 'mucuslean' items: http://www.mucusfreelife.com/mucusless-diet-food-list/

Hope this clarifies things a bit.

Be well!
