The MLK money bomb is not going to be like the other money bombs

For the people who made the site www.freeatlast2008.com not to ask for $100 was a bad idea.

If the people who made this learned from the first two successful money bombs, 100,000 people never signed up. We made all of that money because people donated more than $100. They only asked for $10. they say they did that because it wasn’t about the dollar amount, it was about all the supporters out there showing their support be giving just a minimal amount. This was a mistake

Right now only 9,562 pledges have been made. That is only $95,620. It is almost embarrassing compared to the other money bombs we have had.

Is anyone concerned what the media is going to say about this?

They are going to say things like" Well, Ron Paul's money bomb didn't make nearly what his others made. Are his supporters giving up hope in his campaign?"
"We are already seeing signs through his supporters of what we knew in the beginning. Ron Paul is a flash in the pan."

I just wish so much that Ron Paul did not openly endorse this. I just don't want the media to rub this in his face, basically belittling the other money bomb successes like they didn't matter.

Are people not worried about this at all?

I'm not worried about it. I'm in for $100 (hopefully I can squeeze some more out of the budget). I think anything greater than $1M would be great, but I believe it will be much greater than that. $1M would be enough to surpass Mike Huckabee's fundraising for the quarter.

Have you done any research before you posted? Honestly, this isn't being realist, this is just flat out being negative. Take a look at the poll in a thread a few down. Only about 1/4 said they would donate 10 dollar. Many folks don't even look at the commendation of the 10 dollars. They donate whatever they feel like donating.

I'm sorry for sounding harsh, but these threads are starting to piss me off. Not to mention its already been addressed in another thread with a similar title.

Look, I am going to donate $100. I usually donate $200 or $300 more but I can't do that this time. I spent all my money in Iowa and NH and have about $200 to my name. I have to buy Ron Paul DVD's and flyers for my precinct. I am walking it now and once I am done, I plan on walking it again 2 more times before my primary.

I know a lot of people who are in the same situation I'm in and are not going to be able to donate as much as they have before in the past. If there is a momentum on the day of, then I think we will see something successful, not as successful as the other money bombs, but good enough.

I just worry about this because I don't want the media to have another excuse to put down Ron Paul. I don't want anymore bad press than we have to right now.

Always underestimate. That way, you feel good when we make more.

I say 3 million. A modest sum this close after Christmas.

I fully understand, and I have seen your other threads on how much you canvass and contribute. I applaud you for that. I just think threads with titles like this do not help morale which is vitally important.

Yes, and those threads have been moved to Hot Topics.

I think it is important to sound the alarm, and prepare for the crash. The threads that anticipated a huge win in Iowa and NH, only served to keep people's hopes too high, and make the disappointment that much worse.

A dose of reality, or even pessimism, is good to keep people alert, working and prepared for a setback.

Blind optimism accomplishes nothing.
