in this campaign. I have read too many inflammatory remarks about liberals on these Ron Paul forums. The Republicans don't want us, the Democrats don't want us.
He should have used the Obama line......UNITED.

The Republicans destroyed America, Ron Paul holding dear to them makes me sick.
Too bad, it was one shot to knock these traitors out of the box.

sorry, but the "united" the Obama campaign is running on is a collectivist united, a One World Government united....not something we want.

Ron's not holding dear to the Republicans, he's holding dear to his message.

Not to mention that his message makes the need to unite irrelevant!
If you cannot get people to unite behind you, you will have no hope of having your ideas heard or implemented. Unless you are a dictator.

There was no bloody mistake. The mainstream media censored the American People. Period.

Um, the unifying force is the idea that Federal Government should mind its damned business and leave everything else up to state or local government.

Drill that into everyone's head, and it won't really matter what their actual stances are because they are free to disagree and experiment all they want and copy off other states' successes while avoiding failures of others.

I've often wondered why he associates himself at all with the republican party. I realize that he claims to be a true conservative/republican, but that is simply not possible. Regardless of what the republican party used to be (and I mean like a LOOOOONG time ago), currently (since Reagan) it is about big government and bigger business. Use war to make folks rich. Ron Paul would have stood a better chance if he denounced them from the beginning.

I have checked your posting history. I am calling you out as a provocateur. I advise others to check it and catch the flag words he is using. Brainwashed pops up several times as an example. Note the pattern in his style. He is not here to support but to inject poison by stealth. Problem is he went walloping through the woods cracking big branches. These shills need to do wake up earlier and eat a bigger bowl of wheaties.

Wow, a "provocateur", really. Hm...the word "brainwashed" does pop up a couple of times. TWICE! Both from today in two seperate posts. You didn't read too far down did you? Also, I am not supporting Ron Paul...explained here.

http://www.ronpaulforums.com/showthread.php?t=95577

I thought there were some interesting DISCUSSIONS on this website. However, many of you folks seem to want them to be only one sided.

And Yes for the record, I do think many of the people on these forums are "brainwashed", in that they believe many things that a rational person knows will never happen. Example.

Bring all the troops back to the USA from all foreign lands.

A good idea, no doubt, but it simpily will not happen.

If the moderators feel that I am ruining the apparently fragile resolve of the Ron Paul Supporters, then please cancel my account. I participate in several other political forums around the net and I promise it will not ruin my day.

You know what, nevermind about canceling my account. I'm done here. The more I look around these forums, the more I see Ron Paul Supporters are just like hard core dems and republicans. You are not open to discussion.

Sadly, I suppose this is similar to your response:

Glad you are gone, we don't need your kind around here.

And......here is what your really mean:

Whoopee! My beliefs are no longer in danger of being corrupted by logic.

Randy, I just wanted to thank you for once again scaring someone off. :-/ Seriously, I've held my tongue thus far merely because you have over 3000 posts and unquestionable seniority, but I am personally growing tired of the arrogant, condescending, and hostile tone present in so many of your posts. A significant number of your posts are filled with nothing but personal attacks and accusations, and if I were to be so bold, I might inquire as to whether you were intentionally trying to breed mistrust and discord. I have never in my life seen another longstanding member of any message board who uses inflammatory rhetoric, speaks down to people, or questions their "loyalty" half as often as you do. Your extensive vernacular and linguistic skills may be mildly impressive, but they do not excuse your pompous behavior. You are not the head of the Spanish Inquisition, so for everyone's sake, please stop acting like it.

Obviously, I do know that you're a genuine supporter, and perhaps I'm being overly harsh, but please try to understand how hostile and intolerant your own posts often sound. I'm not posting this to start a feud with you or anything of that sort; rather, I'm posting this in the hope that you'll realize where I'm coming from and think twice before openly judging people. Before you accuse somebody of being a troll, a provocateur, or a shill, please consider, "What if I'm wrong? What if my judgment is in fact not infallible, and I'm calling out and smearing real supporters or potential supporters who are scouting out the scene? If I were mildly interested in Ron Paul but not yet sold on him, how would this attitude affect my perception of his supporters? Would I start to wonder if they really are just some crazy fringe group? Would I really want to join a group where I must toe the line and walk on eggshells or be called out as an enemy combatant?" You must ask yourself these questions. Furthermore, even in the event that the other poster really is a troll, ask yourself, "How should I word my post to avoid letting the thread degenerate into a cess pool of name-calling and exaggerated paranoia?" Many of your posts are insightful and interesting, but others make you sound like a common bully...I imagine a lot of people agree with me here, but most are probably too afraid to call you out on this because you have overwhelming board presence and seniority, and they themselves do not wish to be accused of being "disloyal." After all, if it's your word against theirs, they lose, right...? However, this is rule by fear, and if we want our board to look welcoming to new or potential supporters, it needs to stop.

Your concerns about trolls, infiltrators, and shills are real and justified, but you need to remember what their ultimate goals are:
  • To destroy the morale, camaraderie, and fiber of the community
  • To "divide and conquer" by turning people against each other and inciting so must mistrust and paranoia that the group can no longer function
  • To make us look like a bunch of kooky, intolerant asshats to any outsiders thinking of joining up
There's a good reason for a little bit of healthy paranoia - after all, "they" really are out to get us - but in your crusade against the trolls, you must be cautious and mindful that you do not accidentally do their work for them.

Agreed! QTF!

the point is Dr. Paul has decided he would use the republican party as his vehicle, and in many state the GOP is being reshaped as we speak. Major Party planks are being overturned, as we speak Dr. Paul is being lauded in many small GOP circles.

However you have people in here using a misnomer- that republicans as a whole, and by extension Dr Paul do not want them simply because we reject their Lib/3rd Party Pres. run.

Dr. Paul has shown us just how weak the GOP is at this time; and just when we should capitalizing and pulling together- we have divisive people in here saying, we don't love them enough, OMFG. And how they can't support a party like this... it bullshit.

They are detractors plain and simple. call it something else

Yes, we probably should be nicer to the "outsiders" who havn't been blessed with the light like the posters on this forum have.

You have it all wrong by the way. The mistake was mix'in with the LP and Liberal crowds too much. Most Republicans never really accepted Ron Paul as a real Republican, until the very end, when he announced there was absolutly no chance of a 3rd party run.

Any liberal willing to support Ron Paul is off their rockers, just like an Republican not wanting to support Dr. Paul is off thir rockers, we woo'ed the wrong people.

Wow... if he had started off his campaign as a libertarian or other third party, we wouldn't have been at a single debate, he wouldn't have raised millions, he would of recieved even less air time, and he wouldn't of spread his message to millions of people.

Yes the neo-cons are trash, but it the only effective avenue to spread the message.

If you dismiss those who disagree with you, you have no chance to recruit more people to your side. All you will have is those who already agree with you. That is in part the reason for the popularity of Barak Obama right now. Not because all those people voting for him agree with him on all issues, but because he seems to listen to their concerns. That is also why Ronald Reagan and Bill Clinton were successful candidates. They were willing to compromise as part of moving towards achieving their goals. Ron Paul supports are certainly passionate. Dismiss the Republicans and Democrats and who do you have left? How can you hope to promote your issues?

Your description above is of John McCain, reread it yourself, maybe your slip is showing.

We as Ron Paul followers are "all inclusive" as freedom is popular; it is the cross over people, bring their divisive views from all the Partys'!

Dr. Paul has stated, BLANK, _____... why belabor the point?

We as followers will follow his direction. "To March on this day or not"? "Should he be in charge of his March?" He should run Lib./3rd Party"? Should he use Mr. instead of Dr. all a waste of time.

We welcome all but will not put up with more of the same. There are many among our ranks that desire, more of the same, but many that do not.

We must be vigilant in our standards and not compromise just as Dr. Paul has not all these many years.

By holding the brightest of lights, we stand vigilant watch, guiding the way for those who have heard the call of freedom and are ready to take part. Not fight about stupid shit, that is out of everyone's control/hands.

Need I remind- many people are here with their own agendas.

New Folks, welcome, please excuse our mess, as we are "Under Construction"

My appoligies if my remark was taken to mean that all Ron Paul supporters do not wish to interact with non- supporters. My intent was only to point out that to have influence you have to expand the base to include as many people as possible- most often that includes compromises. I guess you could use both Obama and McCain as examples of candidates today trying to include most people who in the past couple of elections have felt ignored. I just feel that at this time Obama has a broader range of supporters than McCain. I am glad to find diverse opinions here.

Ron Paul never dismissed those who didn't agree with his message. He has been the most humble candidate in history when faced with such horrifying truths. OUR OPPONENTS have dismissed us left and right, and they get more airtime, more MSM focus. Only Ron Paul uses scholarly debate to lay out his issues. The problem is, majority of americans are flat out dumb and have 5 second attention spans.

If Ron Paul came out and yelled "ALL YOU GUYS ARE FLAT OUT WRONG", we could have gotten MORE attention. not less.

I don't think you understand american politics.

McCain's main issue is the iraq war who says: "If you want to pull out of Iraq, you simply don't understand war"

he just dismissed millions of people!

I believe for the most part that Ron Paul supporters follow Ron's lead and try to use evidence and statistics to convince non ron paul supporters.

FREEDOM is the ultimate uniter! But the problem is that many would rather be slaves...such a sad state we are in today.
