The media is not invincible. Let's figure out how to take them down.

We need something like Drudge, but a libertarian one. News aggregation AND blog + chosen forum post aggregation. It would be new.

We already own the Internet.

Adding another site, regardless of content, isn't going to help much in the near term.

Ok I started a thread but guess I could have posted here, sry.

It seems we have a lot of supporters that go out and sign wave Ron Paul signs, and that's great, but what if instead of calling themselves Ron Paul supporters they label themselves Americans for truth.

Imagine no Ron Paul signs, no revolution signs, but instead signs that exposé the truth. If we could turn out signs with huntsman's record, quotes, etc... Before the vote, while msm is spewing how wonderful he is.

Guess I'm just saying Ron paul signs show support but they don't wake people up. If we had spammed over all highways the santorum 2 yr corruption award, the media would have had a hell of a time convincing people he was anything but a sideshow.

Qwould it be ok that if I see a candidates sign on public property I place my own arrow sign with some truth on it? No association with Ron Paul or Paul supporters just a concerned American pointing out a truth for other Americans.

I know that it may seem hopeless to shut down the media, but the colonials may have thought the same before Washington took a heavily defended and superior army at Trenton! This was the turning point of the Revolutionary War. Now we just need to discover our "Trenton"!

Well said. If we can't defeat the media, we can't win. We CAN defeat the media, we just have to figure out how. It can and will be done.

And when we bring down the media, the establishment will be defenseless.

+1 I love that!!

The best way to defeat the media is to render it useless or obsolete. The Internet is slowly doing this, but we need to quicken the process. Of course, SOPA might be the ace up their sleeve.

The Internet generation is here. Those who take best advantage of it will come out on top. Websites are great, but what about online news channels? We could set up local news channels that can be put on YouTube or one of those streaming sites. We could create networks of these channels to broaden the viewership.

Just a suggestion here but how about we start gathering information about specific individuals running the media? We know about Murdoch owning Fox but what about Roger Ailes? We know Ted Turner owning CNN but who runs it day to day? Maybe we can start by finding out more about who runs MSNBC, CBS and ABC? Not just who owns but who runs it day to day. Maybe we can find some dirt? The dirtier the better?

People have held demonstrations in front of the Fed, on Wall Street, in WDC, etc.

What about doing the same thing in front of CNN, Fox, and the other media outlets, focused on the corruption message? Invite international media to cover it; Press TV and RT should love that kind of thing.

If you're willing to apply the same level of force that Washington did, and to undertake the same risks, that opens up many avenues.

I'm sorry but the older generation needs nicely dressed clean shaven lads, and respectfully dressed women with minimal makeup to go out and greet them with a handshake and a smile. Be polite and respectful and go door to door with talking points that make them feel safe with Ron Paul. Make sure they know their social security and medicare is safe with Ron Paul. He is here to protect them not to pull their safety net from them. Old people get scared very easily.
Yes. Excellent plan. Until the next day the idiot box tells them Ron Paul used to sacrifice babies in heathen rituals, or so their unnamed sources say.

Actually, moonshine5757 has it right. We need to walk our precincts and get to know our neighbors; not just one encounter that can be overridden by an episode of O'Reilly as bxm042 points out, but continuous outreach that builds relationships. Electing Ron Paul will not fix the US, it's only the first step. If we want self-rule, we're going to have to have communities that want liberty for liberty's sake, not because Ron Paul is the flavor of the month.

The idea to create a documentary is good. But instead of working with theaters or broadcasters, why not mass produce them as DVDs and hand them out in our neighborhoods? That completely bypasses the MSM (and the USPS!). Come back around a few weeks later and hand out a neighborhood liberty newsletter that corrects misinformation in the MSM. Repeated contact will build trust and camaraderie.

We can possibly win an election without doing this, but we will not have a free society until we do. If we're going to take it up a notch, we have to step away from RPF for a bit and talk to our neighbors face-to-face. Compliment your neighbor on his new lawn mower and note how the free market brought that wonderful piece of machinery to his yard at a fantastic price* -- oh, and how Ron Paul is the free market's best friend in 2012.

I like the idea of handing out DVDs; it's awfully labor-intensive, but it would bypass the corporate media and get us beyond the Internet.

Maybe add an old-style social networking twist of some kind--something like a chain letter where there's a list of people's names (or initials) and the city they're from, along with instructions to pass the DVD along to ten of their friends, make copies and hand them out too, etc.

You can buy blank DVDs in bulk for about 25 cents each. With a small brochure and "chain letter" (or whatever), total cost might be 40 or 50 cents each. That's about the same as one click on a decent website, and definitely way more effective.

Ron Paul supporters should infiltrate the media just as we are infiltrating the Republican Party. Then we oust the old guard. We need to become the media in order to change the discussion from within. It's already started with the Judge and John Stossel. We need people to replace the high level management rule makers as well as the mouthpieces.

The way to take them down is to investigate them. Dig up all the dirt we can on the whole lot of them.

Then let everyone know what pieces of shit they are.
I like your "attack" attitude.

That's what needs to happen. They need to feel the heat.
For example:

  • it's easy to get back at MSNBC using it's General Electric conneciion
  • Fox News has besides owner Rupert Murdoch has someone on their payroll who accuses Ron Paul of racism while he himself pals around with NeoNazi terrorists.

http://www.gnswireless.com/Wireless_Hotspots.htm

We could band together to offer free internet access points to our neighborhoods, rural towns, poor communities, and eventually our own network of wireless internet. Imagine when you're at a hotel and you get online to the hotel's landing page where you usually have to jump through hoops to get access to the internet. Well we could use this to spread good information, videos, messages, forums, blogs, articles, websites, etc. It doesn't seem that expensive to broadcast a signal up to a 1/4 mile. I'm not sure how the technology behind this works with regards to servers, and it seems like a longer range would be best, but I think if we could get control of the information by offering free internet, that might be a long term solution to bringing down the controlled media.

I also think we need to somehow buy up or create newspapers and radio stations. Or heck: http://youtu.be/955qRSyvQ5k

What do you think?
