The media is not invincible. Let's figure out how to take them down.

You cannot solve the problem that people get their news from the TV by getting people on Internet. The older generation isn't going to wake up become Internet savvy, it just isn't their thing. Likely, they are nostalgic for what the news might have been before 24 hour channels. The reality is that people will listen to their children or grandchildren more than the news... Santorum's nephew endorsed Paul, do you need any more evidence of how connected the younger generation really is?

Call your aunts, uncles, parents, grandparents... point out the bias. Don't be manipulative, just explain how sad you are about where your country is headed, and explain Paul's views. I don't know how well received we would be at social events targeted to older generations, but some of them might really be inspired to see an upcoming generation that wants to roll up their sleeves, work hard, and restore this great nation. Many of them grew up listening to stories from their own parents about the depression, tap into that.

Honestly, we need a parent bomb... or grandparent bomb.... let's go visit, discuss, call... tell them about ourselves these days. This will do far more than the media ever can, because at the end of they day... you are more important to someone than some guy on the tube.

I honestly believe personal contact is better than news can ever be, so go listen to grandpas stories, and tell him some of your own about how inspired you are by his generation. You have to connect...

"I really admire your generation for dealing with the Cuban missile crisis, but are we really that concerned about Iran? I mean, even at the height of that crisis the USSR and the USA talked, can't we try that first?"

"I think that my generation doesn't work as hard as yours, so many people just want handouts. I want to work hard, but the government won't let me because of all these laws, and the incentives for people to collect benefits without work. Why is it so hard to support someone who wants people to work hard, isn't that what you taught me mom / grandma?"

The mainstream will create the internet equivalents of their tv stations where they will herd the sheep to. They stopped using SMS polls because we were dominating them, and they're likely to start censoring their comment sections sooner rather than later.

What we need is two or three general purpose neutral news site where people can go to for their daily news, and heavily promote them.

The MSM is not the core of the problem. They are merely a symptom of the disease of irrationality and stupidity. They play on emotions and fear. If we truly want to destroy the MSM, then we need to convince people to become more rational and logical. We need to get people to think for themselves. If they do, then they will certainly come Dr. Paul's way.

We are in a pickle. How can we influence people who do not want to think for themselves to do so? It might sound dumb to some but i think we need to pray big time and do it together maybe we could set a noon time prayer that we all can join in together every single day. We could start a "pray for the minds of Americans" thread.

Something needs to be done. However, the media
is just one part of the Military-Industrial-Complex.
The brainwashing has taken place for along time now, this
will be one tuff nut to crack. At this point, the internet
is our most powerful weapon. A reverse Blackout
would be good too.

Create a few fake polling services that always show us surging. Send them in to multiple news companies constantly. It's more or less what happens now. Play time is over.

sounds good but bottom line is the media proved they can kill us like anyone else and they will make sure we do not win at all costs.

I like your play ball attitude.

1. Call up the radio shows pretending to be a Mittens, Huntsman, or Frothy supporter and act extremely loony.
2. Hold a mock Draft dodgers for Mittens rally. If done right it could get on the media. Even if everyone knows it's fake, it still sends the message.

Right after the same thing happened to us in 2008 (media black out), Trevor started "BreakTheMatrix.com". (Remember the Blimp guy?)

I've read his news every single day since then. Please help him by registering to his newsletter and support him and other independent media.

Myself for 2012, I will no longer use Yahoo services of any kind. I've had 2 Yahoo accounts since Yahoo opened up in 1995, I used its RSS service, etc. I will cut them off completely and I encourage everyone here to completely close your Yahoo accounts. (You can download all you Yahoo e-mails to Outlook and then close the account)

Can you still imagine a Ron Paul victory? I can, for it was Santorum who came in second, and he has no campaign outside of Iowa, and I doubt his "momentum" will carry him over to NH, and definitely not beyond that point. However, we cannot win if we don't have the baby boomers' vote. They vote consistently, and they're the largest voting block in the nation. They also have no clue how the Internet works, aren't about to learn, and are going to keep getting their news from the MSM. So, naturally, our reaction would be to attack the MSM.

We have a few problems here before we can even think of attacking the media. First of all, when the baby boomers turn on the TV and hear the pundits on Fox/CNN/MSNBC/etc saying things like, "Ron Paul supporters are attacking us because their candidate lost fair and square!" it's not going to do us any good. The media will paint us to be crazier than they ever thought possible, and since most people get their news from these outlets, they'll believe it.

The Internet isn't going to take us far in this race. Ron Paul resonates very well with a lot of young, Internet users, but it's a whole lot easier to like the candidate's facebook page, follow him on twitter, and post on forums about said candidate than it is to actually go out and caucus for him. We have the problem of the Internet, whilst being an effective medium for sharing information, often makes us look like we're doing better than we normally would have. Well, maybe if people my age actually got out and voted...

There's also the problem of the baby boomers and their reluctance to use the Internet. Sure, some of them might have email, but they aren't on forums, using facebook and twitter, and probably aren't even checking the Fox News website from the Internet! My grandmother (RIP) was a pretty good Internet user. However, even she was never able to use the Internet to learn about Ron Paul in 2008. My mother is in her 50s, so she's still a bit younger than the demograph we're aiming for when we say "baby boomers", but even she gets most of her news from the Fox News site, the Daily Mail, and the Jerusalem Post. I think a lot of that is because she gets most of her information from Rapture Ready, though.

My point is, fighting the media with the Internet alone isn't going to work. It is my hope that the Internet surpasses the media, allowing these news outlets to become the cheap entertainment that they are. However, the Internet would make a great news substitute, but not the main weapon of any assault against the media.

I propose to become a new form of TV media. There's an old saying that goes, "If you can't beat 'em, join 'em! And then beat 'em!" A great first step would be to somehow get The Judge on mainstream Fox instead of Fox Business. I don't have that channel and have no idea how well he's recieved on it.

I have no idea what it takes to start our own channel. I know the idea was proposed at some point on these forums around 2008 or 2009, and I think it would be an excellent idea. Because Ron Paul had so many quality TV and radio ads, he did tons better in Iowa this year than the last cycle. Obviously, TV works, and we need to know how to get represented on it. The current anchors, pundits, and talking heads simply aren't going to have anything favorable to say about Dr. Paul or his supporters ever, at any time.

The difficulty with this is that, in my opinion, this race is crucial. If we wait until 2016, I'm fearful that there won't be an America left to save. Think of what we're heading towards: a potential WW3, which would bring this country into full economic collapse, and no one's going to bail us out; which would lead us into martial law, making the Patriot Act look tame.

Whichever direction we choose to go in, I suggest we do it quickly. Discrediting the media is a noble task, but I think becoming the media might be a little more worth it.

I'd also like to throw in that, in the meantime, we could do LinuxJedi's idea of a parent/grandparent bomb! This kind of works on my mom, and I think it's an excellent idea while we figure out a long-term plan.

What about a Paulitifact website? Diligent fact-checking of media claims. Pants on fire ratings for individual reporters, talking heads and news services? It would be very hard work, but if the media's spin on things were debunked systematically with well-cited explanations like Snopes or Politifact, it could give a mass of people a place to go for quickly debunking "Santorum is surging" and "Paul is a ra[ist" claims from the MSM on an article-by-article basis.

I was thinking a web cast panel that does a play by play critique of the different msm media panels.

push msm as nation dividers, puppets of corporate cronyism,...we need murdock with bill o on strings...

"murdock is a leg man!" insert numerous leg shots on faux

using sex, fear, and intimidation to manipulate someone sounds like an abusive relationship

the main thing for a reporter is his/her/its credentials, without credibility they are nothing

Adapted/stolen idea from another post don't remember who:

Target a random reporter, expose them individually, and take them out one by one.

What we need is a 4th major cable TV news station; everyone knows that MSNBC, CNN, and Fox News are not "fair and balanced." If there was a 4th news station that actually gained a reputation of being fair, many would switch. How hard would it be to launch a cable TV news station? We would need some filthy-rich libertarians willing to put some capital forward for such a project and I'm sure many of us would be willing to donate or buy stock in such a venture.

I was thinking the same thing. It would be very tough though.

Apart from short term remedies like answering outrageous falsehoods with a 'rapid response team,' medium term tactics like infiltrating, and long term ideas like getting an alternative network together, there's the approach called 'ride the tiger.' Anticipate the power of the enemy, and use their strength as a weakness. As I outlined elsewhere:

Every time the MSM bashes Paul, they validate his positioning himself as the underdog.

Every time the MSM says Paul is going nowhere, they dig a deeper hole for themselves as Paul goes somewhere during the primaries.

Every time the MSM emphasizes how different Paul is on foreign policy, they build up his UMP as the only 'different' candidate out there.

Paul has been using the predictable momentum of the establishment's infowar against them, and it's contributed to his steady rise in the polls, and in converted voters.

Easy, flash pictures back and forth between our media and propaganda brainwashed Nazi Germany, reference Goebbels, Hitler's Propaganda artist, "If you say something enough, it becomes the truth", IE: 'RP's unelectable, kooky, racist';tie media to corporate collusion: IE reporters who are married to establishment elite.

Here's a fun strategic question: what does the media (or the establishment in general) fear MORE than Ron Paul winning the GOP nomination?

Figure that out, and we may well have our pressure point.

I like the cut of your jib.

I've talked about this in the past, but it never amounted to anything. There are 2 kinds of marketing; network marketing and direct marketing. We use some network marketing tools pretty effectively, to raise money, precinct level stuff, meetups, etc. But then we take most of that money and spend it on direct marketing. We give millions of dollars to MSM that happily takes that money for a few 30-second ads, then goes on to spend lots of time talking crap about Ron Paul and talking up all his opponents. It just seems stupid and wasteful to me. What I would do is put all that money back into network marketing. We can't win playing the MSM game... they own it and it's rigged.

What I would do if I was in charge of the campaign is put out a press release, something to the effect of:
"The Ron Paul campaign is creating a new state of the art tool to bring politics to the internet age. It will bypass the need for multi-million dollar ad buys and large corporate donations, which were popularized last century and led to the corruption of the political system. It will connect Ron Paul supporters through the internet, using the full technology of smart phones, iPhones, Androids, text, and email to put together a full network of communication. It will include an online library that teaches such subjects such as the philosophy of liberty, economics, the military-industrial complex, how to network with people, how to teach people about Ron Paul's philosophy, and how the corporate-controlled media manages to select politicians that will maintain the status quo even when the majority of the people want something different.

We will not give another dime for advertisements to a media outlet that does not give at least equal coverage to Ron Paul proportionate to his polling numbers, or equal speaking time in debates. We will be publishing up to date lists of advertisers on media outlets that repeatedly do not give fair coverage, so that people who no longer want to support this antiquated, unjust, corporate controlled system can boycott their products."

Can't you just imagine an MSM exec's jaw dropping when they hear that? This is what they fear more than Ron Paul winning... losing their control over the system.

Then, of course, there's the task of creating all the network marketing tools, but that's probably another discussion altogether. I have some ideas, but I'm not exactly sure what campaigns are allowed to do as far as giving back to the supporters. Basically, there needs to be some sort of reward system so people are inspired to bring more people into the campaign... inspire a little free market ingenuity.

I think its simple, forget the older people. Focus on future (potential) consumers of the MSM and continue to do what we have done. Comment about it, make vids about it and spread the message. Ive seen polls that suggest that only 22% of people trust the MSM. I think that may be skewed because some of them might not trust Fox, but do trust NBC, etc.

Young people are our future and if they already have good grasp on the MSM's agenda, then there is no problem heading forward. Everything Ive seen tells me we have already made a huge impact when I see all the station's ratings fall and the conservative talk radio heads like Rush down 30% this year. It gives me hope. Im 29 and just 2 years ago I was watching FoxNews regularly (mainly Beck).

megyn kelly on fox just said they front runners are romney and santorum. left out the real leader...Ron Paul!

she is a snake and POS operative
