Someone tell me why there needs to be a distinction?

The distinction is this: The March For Freedom, Liberty and The Constitution, Led By Ron Paul versus The March For Ron Paul.

There will inevitably be those who show up and express controversial points of view. Some of these people will be Ron Paul supporters, some will not.

If it is The March For Ron Paul, there will also inevitably be some Ron Paul supporters who, because they think having such ideas associated with Ron Paul is damaging to his campaign, will want to silence those who express them. This will breed a hypocritical collectivist mentality that is contrary to what Ron Paul stands for.

If it is The March For Freedom, Liberty and The Constitution, Led By Ron Paul, we will not be prone to such division and collectivism. Though most of the people there will be loudly supporting Ron Paul (as they should), there will not be a need for one group of people to silence another for exercising their first amendment rights.

Also, as I said above, it would show the world that unlike many supporters of other candidates, we support Ron Paul not because of a cult of personality, but because we share his values and beliefs. It would also demonstrate that we walk the walk of freedom; we don't just talk the talk.

im not sure ive seen anyone who said it just needs to be a ron paul only march, but i could be wrong.

I was going to put the "man", but soon realized that Martin Luther King did not grab that title.

But, to bring together a common people, we don't want Ron Paul to offend Libertarians with abortion and immigration talk. Nor conservatives of war talk. How do we make sure everyone with the same or similar interest who know of Paul get together? We need to run ads. Something. I dono.

They're intertwined, but if you were as Ron this question, the answer would resoundingly be "the message."

Someone tell me why there needs to be a distinction?

I've read time and time again, that 'why not both
the man and the message?' And, 'he's the man
who brought the message so...'

Now, I love Dr. Paul but the theme shouldn't be
about 'both', which I don't think is even possible.

For example:
if a flier is printed and mass distributed, should it
say 'come to Dr. Paul's march' or come to 'Freedom
March 08', and then list Dr. Paul as the keynote speaker
(a long with the other top speakers).

Or, if GOA sent out an invite, would it be for 'gun owners'
to unite and march for the 2nd Ammendment or would it
be an announcement to 'come and see Dr. Paul speak about
gun rights'?

All of it would be great but what would be more beneficial
for Dr. Paul's campaign, for the revolution and for American's
in general?

And the answer (IMO) is to make it about the 'message'
and then showcase Dr. Paul.

Hunter

p.s. Making it about 'the message' in no way implies that
Congressman Paul can't or shouldn't be pimped by all supporters.
Bring the signs, bring the lit, bring your boxes of constitutions,
dress up in RP costumes, wear your RP t-shirts, etc.

But let's work it and get a couple hundred thousand
non-RP supporters there so that 10,000 of us RP supporters
can work our magic and share our enthusiasim.

p.p.s. If Dr. Paul is the theme, then it can't be about
'THE message'. ...At best, it would be about 'HIS message',
which isn't quite the same since hundreds-of-thousands
of people have been standing, uniting and fighting for
freedoms for a very long time.
