The Iowa College Ad Project and Grassroots Web Portal - Chip-in Included

OK.

What is on the Iowa page when you're logged in?

Looks nice. You should try a background that is white with the light blue lettering. I think it would look better and would give a less oppressive feel.

We're making some design changes to the site. I changed the background to a photo of rural American country, and I think that gives the site a much nicer feel. Let me know if you think this is an improvement.

There will be other changes, of course, to text colors and such to match that background.

I don't like it. Makes the site looks amateurish. Try the blue background that is on the splash page or simply a white background.

Please keep those registrations coming! We are working on more site features as well as design improvements, but in the meantime, we need more of you registering and populating that nationwide map!

Adjusted design on the front page of the site to make it more informative and user-friendly. Other features will be coming soon.

You know by making people register you're turning off 99% of people who would otherwise use this. Take me for example, sounded like a cool concept went to the site and saw the sign up...closed the page bye bye!

But just about any political website has a sign-up page before you can get to all of the content. And we include links to bypass the registration page - did you see them?

In any case, if people just look but never register, that's useless, so we need to advertise registration. The whole point is to get people to register so we can communicate with them.

I will try to make the registration splash page more enticing by perhaps putting up a screenshot of the website next to the registration form, so people know what's inside.

Add PASSWORD field to main page.

Add PASSWORD field to main page.

We thought about that and debated that during initial development stages... We may still add the password to the initial registration process if that's the majority consensus. One of the reasons for not having to set the password during registration is because that allows us to put up an external registration widget onto other webpages.

A bulk of the website users who have signed up so far have logged in, meaning they figured out the way to set their password during activation. For others, I will end up putting together a graphic tutorial for how to use the site and how to change the information in their profile - I think that would ultimately be more useful because we still want users to come back and interact with the site and be able to change their profile, rather than set it and leave it.

So your suggestion is definitely something we've been considering and are considering.

LMAO the new ad is already paid for, in 1 day time, by 1 person. Thank you! whomever you may be! :D

As Mitt Romney would say, "we have people" :-)

And I am very grateful for all the support we received for this project. I wish more in the grassroots community and Ron Paul Forums would warm up to what we're trying to do, but I have hope yet that we will convince more people here of the merit in what we're trying to do.

The front page of the site is still pretty bare at the moment, but very soon it will be populated with a lot more useful content, and more site features are being added as well. Stay tuned and please support our cause by registering with the site (www.ronpaulcountry.com - or click link in my signature).

This is a different project but it focuses on inserting Ron Paul Super Brochures into Iowa newspapers. I think it is a really good idea. Thoughts?

It is a wonderful idea - I've been pushing for advertisements in local Iowa papers before I got involved with Ron Paul Country and the Iowa College Ad project... Any advertisement in Iowa is a GREAT idea and will make a difference.

And these are the kinds of grassroots projects we can broadcast on Ron Paul Country to registered users via email and try to solicit support.
