The Importance of Arizona

It would be tough. As someone pointed out, during the HEIGHT of the tea party movement, the tea party groups officially endorsed Jim Deakin for senate against Mccain and J.D. Hayworth....Deakin got 13% of the vote. It's very neoconnish here, not a pure conservatism at all.
This is true. Too damn many immigrants from the East and Midwest US, IMO. :p

Students for Liberty club, eh? Shit, that kind of stuff didn't exist when I was there. /jealous

Yeah I was in it the past couple years but don't really have time for it anymore. Between them and the college republican club, they've brought Ron Paul to ASU campus twice in the past 2 years. (so sick!!)

Support may grow here if he does well in the debate on Feb 22. There's a large Mormon population so the vote is in Romney's favor. Good point about the 3 universities, though. People need to start getting to work now if Paul wants to stand a chance at challenging Romney.

I also live in AZ. I'm not as pessimistic as others are. Not only do we have a good canvassing campaign going on (AFAIK), we have 3 major universities (ASU, UofA, NAU) and a bunch of minor ones-the demographic in which RP does best. This state does attract plenty of blue-hairs from back east and so on, but there's plenty of potential for RP to succeed here. This is the ideal time of year for those of you willing to travel to promote RP. There's still about 3-4 months before the weather begins getting hot as hell again. Right now it feels like an early spring day in the midwest on average. :) I wear shorts and a tank top all day and night. :D

I wish you had suggested that last month when I could have gotten leave. Getting out of North Dakota sounds pretty good right about now lol.

LOL FFS. Is there ONE state were polled or expected to win??

not trying to be negative, just genuinely curious

I think there's a very good chance in Minnesota, maybe a chance in Maine, too early to tell but Washington should be an opportunity. Nevada is an outside shot considering the campaign isn't going to Florida and is focusing on NV. Those are just before Super Tuesday. February could be a good month. It needs to be.

Then Alaska, North Dakota, Idaho on Super Tuesday, with the 1 on 1 matchup in Virginia. Don't know anything about how Vermont might go. I figure Newt will do well in GA and TN. Romney in OK and MA. Ohio seems key; Paul needs to emphasize 2nd amendment here IMO, as well as explaining how libertarian policies are better for rebuilding the economy (Ohio's lost a lot of jobs).

Ron polled in first place in South Dakota last time it was polled, however, that is on the LAST day of primaries. We need to win 5 though, it isn't so much a matter of 'when' except for psychologically, which in itself is important, of course.
