It's like a breath of fresh air, seeing so many of us standing on principle and making such a difficult decision. I've said it once, and I'll say it again: It's wonderful to have so much evidence that I'm not alone. (That WE'RE not alone.)
To contribute, I'd like to ask a question. How many of us who supported Johnson are feeling more than a little alienated by friends, family, and coworkers on the basis of our vote? My mother and father are apoplectic, and they are pissed at me in a very real and very sad way. I'm a grown man, therefore I'm not concerned with doing what they think is right just for the sake of doing what they think is right. We are becoming more distant as they have seen my prediction come true - that the GOP fucked itself right off the cliff into a pool of fail by ignoring, then lying about, and finally marginalizing us. By election night's eve, I had convinced myself that I was wrong, that Robamney would win on the basis of Republican vitriol. I paid too much attention to the polls; I fell victim to the hype.
I never told them that. All they knew was what I had told them back in August: the moment Boehner read off that teleprompter, the GOP sealed its doom...
It's almost as though we are bearing a burden...such is the task of carrying the torch of liberty, I suppose. The pioneers catch the arrows, as they say here in my neck of the woods.
