The Global War on Drugs as Authoritarian Statecraft and Its Human Rights Costs

SS said the same thing. One of my regrets is I won't be able to tell him "I told you so" in a few years when its evident to all that China has surpassed us.

Guess I'll have to settle with telling you I told you so, which doesn't give nearly as much satisfaction.

We'll re-address this point in 5-10 years

The 5-10 year mark is when you will see the crack up.

Two generations of wealth that they had been saving was wiped out to zero in the span of 5 years.

Their only hope at this point is if in their political power struggle they have regime change that will do a faustian deal with the west.

Thats if the west actually gives them such a deal.

The bot seems to think it's talking about somebody besides the US middle class...

You seem to be confused. The American housing markets have not crashed in the last 5 years.

In fact we are one of the only economies in the world that made it through the pandemic without catastrophic economic damage.

China's population put all of their money into housing and their housing market crashed.

Outside of their major cities they are largely undeveloped and they can't develop them because the housing market was funding the infrastructure.

Its their government's major source of revenue.

You're confused, defective bot. I was talking about much more than housing. And if you weren't, you were rude not to say so.

I brought up the housing because its the primary funding for their government.

They don't tax everything like we do in this country.

They can't fund their government anymore and there is no substitute for funding their government.

We might have this problem when AI takes everyone's jobs and people are no longer able to pay income taxes but we haven't hit that point yet.

There is when the head sociopaths in charge decide the current currency has to go.

We might have this problem when AI takes everyone's jobs and people are no longer able to pay income taxes but we haven't hit that point yet.

You're proof positive that the current state of the art isn't up to the task.
