The Epidemic of “Gay Marriage”

Ever been in a situation where an unattractive female put the hit on you? I have. I don't see a difference.

Actually, from my experience the unwanted female attention is worse for a number of reasons. The unwanted homo attention ended with no lasting issues.

The only comment here to which a response is needed was the first:

But isn't it a bastardization of thought and word to call George a "conservative".

No because if you present a person a political graph with only 2 choices, liberal or conservative, most people will accept George W. as conservative. And the minority who do not accept him as a conservative invented a new term and call him a Neo-Conservative.

So whatever your problem is, I don't care what you call it, Neo-Marriage is just fine. The definition of marriage in the purview of the state is a contract creating a legal entity with equal rights to each others property. Whatever else definition you impose on the word is because of your religion.

All I care about is protecting liberty.

If a man wants to screw another man in the ass, that should be none of my business as long as he doesn't do it in front of me!

Lishy: This has absolutely nothing to do with what I was saying and besides is "utterly without redeeming social value".

Disagreeing with the homosexual lifestyle does not make you homophobic. Freedom does not conflict with Christianity, stupidity does. Personally, the idea of two men destroying each other's rectum is absolutely disgusting and moronic, but hey, to each his/her own. As a Christian, my job is not to use government force to project my morals on anyone. I can advise and admonish, but let God be the final judge.

However as stated above, the gov't shouldn't be involved in marriage period.

This has absolutely nothing to do with what I was saying.

What you said wasn't very much. You took two separate and distinct matters, attempted to co-mingle them, and then apply your personal spin on them.

Marriage as a religous affair:
Should be left to the church as an individual institution. If the Catholic church (or any other) chooses not to wed same sex couples, more power to them. If some other church chooses to wed same sex couples, more power to them. As individuals, and as private institutions, you have every right to set the guidelines or "rules" within your confines, you have no right to set them so for another individual or private institution.

Marriage as a government sanctioned contract:
Should not exist. Of this, most of us agree. However, should the "State" choose to extend the recognition of such a contract under it's purvue, it should not do so in a discriminatory manner. A State Marriage Contract is nothing but a contract between consenting adults, and granting privelages to one subset of the population while denying them to another should be disgusting to anyone who cares about liberty.

+1 My experience with unwanted female attention got me 2 ugly, crazy stalkers once. The unwanted homo attention ended almost as soon as it began.

Homosexuals can't really be wed as they can't actually consummate the marriage.

2. By nature, do you mean originated on Earth?
Yes originated on earth from what can be proven thus far... and a form of life that seems to have originated from the same process as the rest of life on the planet, and interacts with the rest of life on the planet. Nature.

If you are a Christian male don't marry or have sex with a man, problem solved. Realize though not everyone is Christian and shouldn't have to abide by your rules. Freedom of religion or lack of religion.

Government shouldn't be involved in marriage. Government shouldn't be involved in doctor's licenses either, but that doesn't mean government should be able to deny them to minorities. Fortunately, it doesn't. So let the gays get their marriage licenses. Just saying the government shouldn't be involved in marriage won't go anywhere. Even if it started to gain traction, you'd be attacked for "opposing marriage" by people all across the political spectrum, probably mostly by people who are already married. You'd be about as popular as a candidate proposing that females should have to register for the military draft (BTW, Wikipedia's article on Conscription has an interesting list of countries that do require women to register or actually serve)

Absolutely gov does not belong in marriage.

The marriage license became a federal thing to stop interracial marriage.

I think homosexuals would probably disagree.
