Criticism is taboo? Or what about positive energy criticism?

I don't think it really means much of anything. Nothing to be concerned about or worried about. If you like it here stay, if you don't leave. It is a big Internet with many forums. If the owners of this forum rub you the wrong way, you don't have to post here and give them your posting content.

Positive/negative really depends on perspective. So does whether or not something appears constructive

I don't understand the point of the question? Maybe I'm just a bit "dull" this morning...

I've seen a pretty wide spectrum of attitudes and "energies" in posts around here, as well a some really indepth conversations, and yeah, also some food fights.

So, what's the point, again?

I wasnt aware it was a Forum Rule, but it is a Rule I follow each and every day of my life.

It doesn't say not to criticize. It says that if you're going to say "Rand's a traitor," you should maybe provide something CONSTRUCTIVE to go along with that. If all you can do is say "we're screwed" (no, I know you're not, Pete) or "I hate __________________," then what is your point?

Negative content should be approached with the goal of finding constructive solutions to existing problems.

Oh no! You mean... the forum aspires to find solutions?!? Here I thought it was just a bitchfest :)

OP is just butthurt because people are tired of him whoring for Gary Johnson on RPFs. Oh darn, that wasn't positive, was it? Tough shit.

"You have got to buck up, man. You cannot drag this negative energy into the tournament!"

The universe is made of energy. I suggest making positive energy whenever possible. Manifest your dreams.

I make an effort not to use ad hominems and sometimes edit out the foul language, but it is difficult. One positive thing I can do is to stop conversing with certain people once they show their true colors. Fences make good neighbors and sometimes it is just better to stay away from some people.

Well for my own observation.... there's so much control opposition type of posting in the forum... using the truth issues to get empathy, but then contradictorily gives establishment solutions of complacency, instead of standing one's grounds to the principles of truths for real solutions be encourage, its mainly centered on compromise.

This forum is a window for Ron Paul's supporters that should show the unity of his followers...

No party ever develops out of a pure agenda. This is the problem with election campaigns. Every party is a combination of many parties that at one time had to allow their agendas to be compromised.
Once again, the notion of being a liberal or a conservative is a false dichotomy. This type of thinking is quite easy as it is all down hill. Likewise, the division into seperate Republican and Democrat parties is also a false dichotomy. Similarly, this is very easy shallow thinking. The true American dichotomy divides the spectrum into a tyrant on his throne, with this character being established by our Founding Fathers, and into a worthless prostitute living on the street, with her character created by me in order to advance slightly on the foundation that they have already laid.

It's a nice set of guide lines. I think we've all been doing pretty well.
