The DC- r3vmarch Poster Contest

Hmm, if this is still open, i think i will submit something! I just recently opened this thread and read about it...
 
Yeah, I don't mind at all if the "contest" ended, thats fine. I've been swamped with work the past week or so but I've got a poster idea floating around in my head, just havn't had a few hours to design. Do what ya want for this contest, I'll still make some artowkr regardless. Nice work so far!
 
Everything I did on Adobe illustrator - the white house was a picture. I took the easy way out of vectoring the white house and live-traced a billion times until I got the best image (and greyscaled). So, I cheated a little bit, but it still took forever to do.

If you don't have Abobe Illustrator, there is an online vectoring program you can use to make a vector Jefferson Memorial (although, I do like AI, and really recommend it - you can get a free trial from adobe.com) - just find an image and go here: http://vectormagic.com/
 
Give.Me.Liberty, that is a very nice poster. I like the color choices, and the White House you did is excellent. Good work.
 
I will make it into a PNG file when I get back to my dorm room, since people are having a hard time seeing it (you need quicktime or anything close to it) :)

I made another one.

So here they both are.

AD 1 (dont mind white border) + AD 2 (don't mind black border)

might be some spelling errors - I triple checked, but if you're staring at the same thing for 3 hours... you can't really tell anymore. :)

I too am spelling challenged :)

The poster with the white house is working: the "money green" for type reminds us of money and inflation ( and money policy is Ron's stronger points ). The faded sunburst works rather well... I've seen the same effect used in other political posters from yesteryear. Also I like seeing the offical Ron Paul 2008 logo... it's very important to include that often.
 
I'm buying tickets for the June 21 date so I hope that's the one that sticks. I will not be able to change it without a penalty (and there will be five of us). I really can't keep waiting for a date. It is already too late for us to shutdown our office to make the April 15th date so I have to pass on that one (unfortunately).

To whoever is getting this together: PLEASE AT LEAST MAKE JUNE 21 THE OFFICIAL DATE !!!

OK, I think I have a solution for my screw-up. Anyone who wants can enter the contest. All entries will be due 1 week after the date is announced. Only those who originally entered will be eligible for the RP Round. The top vote getter of this group wins. 2nd place is open to all and will recieve a pre-FED dollar (real money;)).

Dammit Jim, I'm a musician, not a graphic artist!!
