I propose a contest :eek::D

We are going to need postbills/flyers/handouts for the upcoming... event. While I'm sure many will make there own, it would be good to create a database of designs/templates. (All entries must given to the public domain.)

I remember, fondly, the effort put into the Ames Straw Poll Ad and consider what was realized in that 36 hours to be one of, if not the most, impressive peices of grassrooots Artwork in history. I bet some of our new members would like to be involved in something like that and so propose this contest to watch the cream rise to the top and have some fun.

If I made one...
  • The biggest text would say, "Make History".
  • The theme would be, "promoting the value of liberty"
  • It would remain legible in 1/2 page format for handouts
<hint hint- nudge nudge>

Due Date for preliminary entries - March 6th

The preliminary cut will be by committee <TBDBM;)> - March 10th

Depending on when we get the final details from HQ..., remaining contenders will get 3 additional days to finalize entries.

Final voting will be done by everyone via Poll.

And since no contest is good without a prize...

Lets make it 10 working days from Mon, give this a chance to spread. (Feel free to repost this to your MU's/etc.).

So, due date for preliminary entries is March 6th.

Yes, the prize is a silver 20.

Dare to Win!!!

I propose a cash prize as well to get people motived, I am ready to chip in.

I wonder if legalities would come into play with cash prizes?

I have been thinking there could be smaller prizes for 2nd and 3rd.

Perhaps gift certificates for HQ's store?

While I am not against the idea of additional prizes, I don't want this to get any more complicated than it will...

We have till monday to finalize these details.

Thoughts???

Wait a second... isnt this real money and "cash" paper money not really money? I thought so...

So I guess we can have paper money for prize and not the silver. :P

:D , I was wondering who would mention this... lol

I'm just gonna stick with the silver, if others want to up the ante...

:)

Please repost the OP and link to MU's

Thanks

I'm in.

This also gave me a little side-project idea. What if we designed a sticker the size of an American note, drawn up to look like real money at first glance, only upon further examination all of the text on the bill would contain simple phrases that would inform the reader that they are being robbed and that they have a voice, give them a website, create a trail....you get the idea. Kind of viral. Our eyes are naturaly drawn to anything that looks like it could be money. You know this. Just a thought that popped into my head.

Can we push the deadline to 10 days after the date is announced?

Sure,

So, preliminary designs are still by March 6th,

Final designs due 10 days from the date they announce... the date :p

If they announce the date before March 1st, the final will be due Mar 9

-and exomniac, I look forward to seeing your FRN thing also:)

Good Luck
