The Campaign Chairman sent u & me a

fundraising letter yesterday. The campaign has reached a higher gear ! It's time for us to use a higher gear also in our giving donations. Do you want Ron Paul to wake up Monday morning and have less campaign funds than McCain, Less than Huckabee, Less than Brownback, Less than Tancredo, Less than Hunter and yes even Less than Tommy Thompson ?!? Well I don't either !The only way for that not to happen is for U & I to give, to be as generous as we can be TODAY not tomorrow or next week, it will be too late then. One of these opponents, perhaps two are going to come out of the straw poll with tremendous momentum in media coverage and in fundraising. We need to offset the high cost of the straw poll for Ron and also offset this momentum of the opponent(s) we have been leading, by creating our own momentum in a massive fundraising drive, NOW !

As usual ANY amount you can give will help ($25 if possible, but $5 if nothing else) ! For you who can give the maximum please do so now when it is so important ! Each person may give a maximum $4,600, couples may give $9,200. If Ron doesn't participate in the general election $2,300 will be refunded to each maximum contributer. There are truly few times in a person's life that they can make a difference to actually make the world a better place. I truly believe we have that chance now ! Please be as generous as possible in your donations to Dr. Ron Paul. Please show Ron that no matter how this straw poll turns out we are BEHIND HIM with our support, our votes and our donations...THX

Got 5 bucks? No! Kiss Ron Paul Goodbye

O I didn't realize that, but that's a smart decision. You give the maximum amount possible to RP to now, and then can get refunded.

Considering the frugality and smart money decisions to expect, I think if the primary doesnt go our way, the refund shouldn't be a problem. (Of course if RP doesn't go third party)

Are they completely sure the legality of the $4600 now?? We cannot mess up with the FEC.

I thought it was 2300 per person, 4600 per couple

Unless, they're refering to both the Presidential and Congressional campaign, where an individual can donat 2300 to the presidential and 2300 to the congressional...kind of confused

Where did you hear that?

Guy on Facebook in justin.tv topic: "holy sh**!! $75 grand yesterday alone??"
Me: "Details? I'm guessing that is money raised, and is that from online, a fundraiser, or what?"
Facebook guy: "Yeah, Ron Paul said the campaign had its best day of fundraising yet yesterday raising $75,000. I imagine that is from all sources yesterday."

http://www.facebook.com/topic.php?uid=2229718737&topic=7982 I guess it was on justin.tv

The source is Ron Paul! I just returned from the Iowa State Fair and he said this in his speech!

I didn't hear an amount - just that it was the best day ever.

Awesome, I wonder why yesterday was the best. Didn't seem like there was anything special going on. Maybe that fundrasing letter just really got people motivated to donate? It worked for me.

You can donate $2300 before the primaries and $2300 after the primaries per person. $4600 total.

Each individual may donate up to $4,600.. $2,300 goes to the primaries and $2,300 goes to be used in the general election, if nominated.

If the $75,000 figure is true, we should really spread this good news. $75,000, the best day ever on a seemingly ordinary day. This could really get people pumped up.

I know that... and that is my point. the primaries are NOT over yet. This is like taking a loan from the General Election funds. I think if it hasn't been checked by the campaign its sounds like a bad idea. What if the campaign somehow uses more than what could have been legally collected before the General Election? I just think this is some very fine line stuff and we need to be extremely careful. Stupid FEC laws anyways, but if you play the game we have to follow the rules. If we so much as go $1 over what we legally can, Fox News, The Neo-Cons, and other campaigns will bury us.

I posted this on the justin.tv thread and everybody ignored me, so I'll try here. Anyone up for a challenge?

If you guys like the live feeds, please donate to RP through the link on this page.

http://www.ronpaul2008.com/snippets/3/

Or use the code ABC123 in your donation.

The money goes straight to RonPaul2008 just like on the main page.

In fact, here's a challenge. I'll donate 100.00 through the live feed link if 15 people will donate at least 10.00 each throught the link on this thread.

I can confirm the $75,000 in funds raised in one day. Ron Paul just said that statement during the grand opening of the Iowa Headquarters in Des Moines. He made an appearance at 1:00 pm on Thusday, August 9th. I videotaped the event and will try to get som video on YouTube later today.
