The biggest objection to Ron Paul right now...

Early on, the problem was that no one had heard of Ron Paul. Now that his name recognition is starting to exceed 50%, I hear this one frequently:

"I like him, but he doesn't have a chance in Hades to win the election."

I generally point out that he's raising more money than the other top tier candidates this quarter, and that he has more volunteers than the rest of them put together.

Any other ideas on how to close the sale, and motivate people who voice this objection to register and vote for Ron Paul?

Start from the beginning...show how the momentum has not slowed down one bit.
and how vegas bookmakers had to slash the odds of him winning the presidency from 200-1 to 6-1.

If he talks about odds of him winning, you could refer him to www.gambling911.com the online book maker. The last time I think he was at 4/1 or 6/1 to one to be the next president which is quite different to no chance. Clearly enormous amounts of money are being bet by thousands if not millions of people that Ron is going to win, in July in the UK he was 80/1 - in the US he was 200/1.

or ask them to check "Google Trends" which predicts he will be the next President and they predicted Bush to win in both 2000 and 2004.

check it out.

The money and straw polls remain compelling. He's polling at 3rd in Iowa on some scales.

Bottom line is you have to get them to stop believing the media tells the truth about how people are doing so they'll look at success factors themselves. The recent MSNBC/Newsweek exclusion is completely overt and makes it hard for people to deny there is an attempt to ignore him no matter how well he's doing.

Point out that the polls don't reflect voter preferences or reality, they reflect what people have been told so much that they come to accept as truth.

Also, even if we are to take the polls at face value, they show a wide open race with Paul never statistically that far from the "viable" candidates (one recent national poll, which have been the hardest for him because of name recognition, even had him in a statistical tie for third). When you factor in the probability that turnout for him will easily be greater than for the others, things look even better.

Hell, the media has repeatedly even left him out of polls that show him leading one or two "frontrunners" and statistically tied with others. They're trying to force-feed us. Are we going to take it?

Point out that 70% of Americans are against the war. Tell him what is ridiculous is that Republicans think they are somehow going to beat Hillary by nominating a pro-war candidate.

If we get our people out in Iowa and finish in the top three, those "can't win" fears with disappear.

Will someone that knows or can find the details on John Kennedy's Presidential campaign post the details of where he was in his campaign in the beginning and see if it parallels Paul's campaign.. I believe he was far behind where Paul is at this time in the race.

Most people can relate to this kind of factual information, rather than just pleading and pointing out money raised.

Remember these people believe they are hearing "facts" on the MSM, so I believe you must counter their argument with some facts of your own.

People believe the MSM polls. I usually tell them about the straw poll wins and the post-debate wins, and how Ron Paul wins every online poll. (Well, every honest online poll...)

Also, I like to say that other candidates may have voters, but Ron Paul is the only one with supporters.

Does any other candidate:
-Have a strong presence in yard signs?
-Have supporters willing to hold signs in the rain and cold?
-Have the ability to pull off a moneybomb?
-Draw crowds of 5k in the cold? (Obama draws big numbers, so I usually only make this point when talking to Republicans)
-Have a supporter-sponsored blimp?

I made a video showing the media taking notice of Ron: Ron Paul's Mission (http://youtube.com/watch?v=_zTp6nX40XM)

Also, A New Hope (http://www.RonPaulIsHope.com) is one of the best videos you can show someone.

That is what the main stream media wants you to belive.

That is what the main stream media wants you to belive. Most of their polls are done by telephone and they conviently exclude Paul becasue they are running scared!

The Case For Ron Paul

This is exactly why I created www.thecaseforronpaul.com so that people will understand that he not only has a chance but is in fact a leader.

I just release a video on this:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2f_YFMfottY

We must spread the word that Ron Paul DOES have a chance!

I have gathered all of the Straw Poll and Fund Raising info at www.thecaseforronpaul.com along with info on the Debate Polls, Web Traffic and Grass Roots Networking. Check it out and spread the word.

You can also appeal to your friend in this way:

Say, "Do you want to be someone who does things because everyone else is doing it or do you want to be the one who stands on principle?"

This depends on what kind of friend you have.

Maybe think of a really terrible yet hugely popular pop artist that your friend hates and contrast it with an outstanding yet less popular band that your friend likes.

A few examples- "Don't buy that Radiohead album it will never sell as many albums as Brittany Spears."

or "Why are you buying that Charlie Parker album? Don't you realize Michael Bolton outsells it ten to one?"

You'll have to do a little research on your friend's tastes in music but this can be effective.

My personal bullet point response is, "Then you are exactly where those who manipulate our lives want you to be!"

I'm not a big conspiracy guy, but anyone in business knows it is all about marketing. I just point out that every time Dr. Paul's name comes up on most of the talking heads shows, he is either dismissed as a nutjob, or a 'rock star' candidate supported by the fringe groups.

I then ask whoever I'm talking to to go to his website and read his position papers, and simply make up their own minds.

The only thing Dr. No isn't dominating is the MSM's phone polls. Are all the other indicators wrong??

The other guys don't stand a chance:
-no money
-no on-the-ground support
-no Blimp
