After Ron ran in 08', I cancelled my cable and put my tv in the closet for 3 years. I did it because I was pissed off like you wouldn't believe after what I saw. I have a tv again, but it's because my girlfriend who I live with, but I hardly watch any tv still to this day.

Huge growing experience for me actually, and I would recommend it to everyone who has never done it. You will never regret it and will look back like I do as being one of the best things you have ever done in your life. The money you save you can use for liberty candidate donations.... or whatever it is you choose

If I had TV I'd cancel it. I don't even have a digital receiver thinigy-muhbob.

There IS a dish on top the house my wife and I bought (fixer-upper we haven't moved into yet) though that I haven't removed yet.

Cable doesn't even come where I live.. we briefly had dish .. ick

anything we want to watch we can find on line - which really doesn't amount to much.

We do have a television in the house.. but it's hooked up to a lap top.

I recommend everyone cancel their TV, I canceled Directv and they called back 3 different times spaced about a week apart with better and better deals.

I never bit though, saving a ton of $$$ plus you can get all the local channels over antennae and anything else you want over the internet

My tv is for my gaming. Cable is for my wife... Tried to without it , but she missed her hgtv too much

Pull the plug and break the spell. AGREED. Are people really ready to stop mental masturbation with television and actually inform themselves? With information comes responsibility. Speaking of responsibility, who's going to babysit the kids if you unplug the television. Us? What? Houston we have a problem......I love this idea but I think this SCARES people. Most people I know are afraid to be alone with their thoughts or just be in a room with people they know or even family without a television running in the background. The television sound or even just muted but available for all to see keeps all conversation on the safe and superficial level which is what most people seem to prefer. If they don't have that, they would just fiddle with their phones because ANYTHING is better than actual conversation because that is just too damn scary.

Truth! It's not easy for many, but it's well worth it

Over the past 3 years Comcast has gradually raised my "triple play" package (phone/internet/TV) from $80/mo., to $90, $105, $125... etc... last month it came in at $178 & change.

Called them up, cancelled everything but the internet. $40/month. This week I received the prepaid return box I'm supposed to stuff my DVR & cable-modem (also bought my own on eBay for $40, avoid the $7/mo. "modem rental charge").

My labor day project: disconnect cable equipment, pack it up and call for UPS pick-up Tuesday, drink a celebratory beer. Enjoy saving $130/mo. and start saving up for my future campaign to run as a liberty candidate for some local office in 2016.

FREEEEEEEEEEEDOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMmmmmmmm!

Awesome! and to save the internet charges, get a commercial grade phone wire and just run it to your neighbors house... That's another $40 you save

You are hereby guilty of a thought-crime and the DHS will be coming to apprehend you shortly.

It didn't sound like you were cancelling your cable; yet you are urging others do so?

Well, my cable was cancelled, now that I live with my girlfriend, I am trying to convince her that we don't need it. I don't care for it after the years I didn't have it. So, yes it is still on in my house where I am now, but it will soon be cancelled. Never thought about that specs, I did sort of contradict myself, son of a %R$#!
