"The audience is not ready to be educated"

Thanks! I love how giddy Mamdani seems to get after being shown Ron's statements and calls him a professor.

This campaign is not about educating the audience. It is a side benefit at best. This campaign is about winning an election. We need to get focused on that and do what it takes to win.

If you are able to help educate people you know and win their support for Ron Paul... that's great. But don't expect a paradigm shift in the way Americans think or vote. RP has got to express his message in terms that the bulk of the electorate will understand and accept. Otherwise he will not get their votes. Win the election now... educate later... if some of the latter happens along the way, terrific!

Welcome to the forums.

I would respectfully disagree. People need to break away from the matrix-- voting for lesser of two evils. In 2008, Ron Paul's message resonated with a lot of people, which is why his support has grown in leaps and bounds. I truly believe that he stays in the Republican party only because that is all the system will allow, presently.

It's not about a win--this is not a sporting event. This is all about liberty and freedom and a man whose record needs no explanation as to where he stands. Using an example; Ron Paul is the Oracle, we are Morpheus and the people who have been brainwashed can either take the blue pill or they can take the red pill, it is up to them.

Nevertheless, his message needs to get out to the people. Liberty hangs in the balance--the people have the power, but only if they are educated enough to know they have the power!

Welcome Rob, good to see a fellow missourian.

There are a lot of supporters here in the St Louis area! Im constantly working on my coworkers who are mostly Obama disciples that quote MSNBC talking heads daily. Thankfully we can watch youtube at work so I have no problem dropping Ron's reality bombs on them.

In watching that clip again, I remembered how much clapping there was to what Dr. Paul was saying. The booing came in when he was quoting bin Laden. I think some of them must have misunderstood what he was saying.

I think the booing came specifically from saying we haven't been giving Palestine a fair treatment. So many republicans and evangelicals are brain washed that israel can do no wrong and we must support it

Okay, that could be true, but still, they're unfairly attributing that belief to Ron Paul, when he's only calling for people to consider the stated motives of al Qaeda.

I try to be nice and polite and live and let live but it can be difficult what with how so many (dare I say most) people I interact with are so bloody willfully ignorant, and proud of it, that I sometimes do have very negative thoughts about people in general and the electorate in specific and find myself actually getting a bit angry about it.

Like the thread title says, 'the audience is not ready to be educated', or as I see it, most people are too stupid, and lazy to want to even think for themselves or do for themselves and become indignant when it is suggested to them that they should do so.

The reason America lost it's way is because of stupid and lazy Americans voting for corrupt politicians who promise them that they can continue unhindered with their stupid lazy lives.

And that goes for all of you reading this who think it's ok that government does all this sh!t too us so long as we get to vote, like voting makes doing evil deeds acceptable.

To paraphrase Ron Paul, all of this economic suffering we are going through with no end in sight is just so unnecessary if we would just force our politicians to follow the Constitution.

(yes I'm in a bit of a bad mood tonight, but it will pass).

Winning an election and educating people are two distinctly different goals.

Educating people typically does not win an election. And winning an election does not typically educate people. The two are not necessarily mutually exclusive, but they typically are not paired.

With Ron Paul Education is a side affect and he is able to help all who would like to break free from the Matrix.

Ron Paul has been in congress on and off for thirty years (12 terms), within that time did he get much coverage, with regards to abolishing the Federal Reserve? We can all go back and look at his record and see he has stood consistently all those years. However, it wasn't until his run for President in 2008, that he was able to educated the people about the Federal Reserve--including his colleagues up on the hill.

Back when he ran for President in 1988 as a Libertarian Candidate he campaigned in schools and universities regardless of their eligibility to vote, in Dr. Paul's own words he said this: "We're just as interested in the future generation as this election. These kids will vote eventually, and maybe, just maybe, they'll go home and talk to their parents." Dr. Paul also went on to say: "That's why we talk to a lot of young people. They're the ones who are paying these bills, they're the ones who are inheriting this debt, so it's most likely these young people who will move into this next generation in government."

Again, this whole campaign is not about winning an election, this is about educating the people about liberty.

Flash back:
