Thank you guys! It was an experience of a lifetime. I'll never forget it - met some amazing people. The planners, volunteers, marshals, medics, etc did so much for this. Great job, guys!

I asked a Capitol Police Officer (who were ALL very friendly) about an estimated count. He said roughly 10,000, and that is was the largest they had had in a while. I bet it NEVER happens that the Police are forced to take off their hats and put their hands over their hearts at demonstrations or rallies that take place there (which they did when the National Anthem was sung).

It was such an excellent day of loving our country and everything it once stood for.

I tend to think that during the Rally however, there were more along the lines of roughly 6-7000.

It was so brutally hot and humid and I really think many were driven away earlier than had it been cooler and more pleasant.

Thank you for organizing a truly inspirational event. As for the numbers, I have to agree that there were a lot more people at the march than were at the rally. I think there were about 5000 at the rally. Maybe twice that at the march. It was so hot that after Ron spoke we left to find refreshment and shade. Hopefully it won't be that hot when we gather in Minneapolis.

It didn't occur to me that they were even listening, sadly. I don't know why. I guess at the time, I was just thinking of all the march attendees and rally attendees, and our common cause of freedom.

But it touches my heart greatly, to know that the officers did this. Even now, a common bond with those who some deem to be our "enemy". Always remember, I am telling myself, they are Americans, too.

Yes Susan Wolfe you have a voice to die for! And such a fantastic event, I'm so delighted i made it from New Zealand. Just got back and i am lagged! It was well organized, lovely atmosphere apart from the altercation over the "F*** the Govt" sign moment and 12 policemen. I wondered about that guy from an agent provacateur point of view. He did get seriously histrionic over a provocative sign. The rest of the atmosphere was stunning. Well done all those who contributed. I know how much work goes into it.
I'd love to be able to go to Minneopolis but hey i'm not American and now I'm broke! You are wonderful people and it was so coooool being part of you... in the flesh, as it were, for a day!!!

Unfortunately I won't be able to be there for the entire walk, but have some ideas for the end of the walk, though figure that the organizers have the same thing in mind.

I would be glad to admin a My Space page... I'm not very familiar with Facebook.
