Texas Sues Georgia, Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin at Supreme Court over Election Rules

Between the Civil War/Reconstruction, the Federal Reserve, the 17th Amendment, the Military-Industrial Complex, et cetera ad nauseam, the Republic fell a long time ago (and not all at once or at any one particular moment). It's been nothing but shambling and increasingly desiccated revenant for quite a while now.

I am disappointed that I won't get to see the operatives of the U.S. Department of Propaganda (i.e., the corporate media, et al.) gnaw their own tongues off in head-exploding fits of apoplexy, but that would have been a short-term satisfaction in any case. A Biden presidency that many millions will regard as illegitimate will serve the longer-term purpose of further exposing the fact that a continent-wide mass democracy of over a third of a billion people is (and can be) nothing but a ludicrously untenable sham. A Trump victory would have undercut that salubrious result. Now that both "sides" have had a taste of having their noses rubbed in it, our ideological self-segregation can proceed apace. I hope that it will.

You are completely correct.

However, I request you elaborate on what you believe the consequence of ideological self-segregation is in a heterogeneous population such as the United States. If you would be so kind, I am interested in your thoughts on the matter.

For those that think this Texas case getting dismissed on grounds of standing is the end of it all is forgetting that this case was submitted less than a week ago. And before that, there were already more than one pathway for Trump to get re-elected.

Since the TX case was dismissed on standing and not the merits, Trump will just take this case in his own hands and file the same lawsuit so HE has standing. The case is strong, SCOTUS just needs to hear it.

I also agree with Thelibertarianconservative. Its not that these Trump justices are bought and paid for, they're just moderates, they don't have balls, most republicans don't. Make them take a case they cannot deny.

There are pending lawsuits/hearings in multiple states. Bush v Gore was a state election contest decided at SCOTUS, none of Trump's election contests have reached SCOTUS yet. Well the PA case is technically but it wasn't an election contest, that lawsuit was ongoing since before the election.

We're barely approaching the end of Act 2 and not even at the climax yet.

The day it is over is when Biden is inaugurated.

now i usually dismiss your writings but that was clear and sound.

anyways however troubling this election fraud allegations are, the silver lining if Trump loses, is that we will have the republican nomination fight in 4 years. That will be interesting to watch, now that Trump red pilled even more people like Ron Paul did.

Those cases will be tossed for the same reason: no standing, just like I've been telling anybody who wanted to listen, including Mrs. AF.
The other cases have much better claims to standing, there is no reason to believe that they will be denied because of this.

And that is insane...if he were to do that the Republic would truly be dead.

I would have no problem with Trump stepping down and then building a resistance and secession movement, even if it relied on his cult of personality.

I would likely join such a movement.

But to launch an internal Bonapartist coup d'état while still CinC of the Armed Forces is, quite obviously insane, and I would have no choice but to oppose such a coup with force.
Then what is the meaning of the oath to protect and defend the Constitution from all enemies, foreign and DOMESTIC?
If the Republic is dead then why would you fight for the side that killed it against the side promising to restore it?
If the Republic is dead then we need not be bound by its constraints and starting the war to refound it while Trump is still Commander in Chief is far better than trying to start it when the military is in the hands of those who destroyed it.
Bonaparte saved France from the Jacobins, Trump will save us from the Demoncrats and not go on to destroy us with foreign wars.

No he is not - we concur.

It will up to President Harris to pack the court.

.

I will never understand (among many other things) why you think Biden will need to go away so Harris can be installed to do the evil bidding of whoever. Why would they even need to do that? It’s obvious that he is just a puppet like the rest of them. Do you think his dumb ass would really be in the way of anyone’s agenda? Did you not watch Cheney run the WH while coke head Bushbaby bumbled around for 8 years? Hell, that’s just a teaser.

Biden wouldn’t pack the court, but Harris would? Why is that? It doesn’t make sense.

I beg everyone to get to the root of the issue instead of the fever dreams. Biden will unfortunately be sworn in. There will be nothing more than Operation Warp Speed, continued collapsing of the economy, digital fiat currency, police state, chaos. Prepare for this instead of thinking some billionaire celebrity is going to come to save your asses. No one is coming to save you. Stop putting faith in institutions that have enslaved us all. Get outside and talk to your neighbors. They will be there when government is nowhere to be found. Take care. Really.

Simple. Because the radical leftwingers are already complaining that he is too white and traditional. He has served his purpose- he delivered the Whitehouse.

Secondly, his dementia will be an obstacle.

Well hope you are correct.

But I guarantee that the Deep State Cabal - the INSURRECTOS - have directed the courts not to get involved.

If they do - with three Trump appointees, they will use that as a pretext, when they win Georgia, to pack the court.

Power corrupts , absolute power corrupts absolutely.

Republican nominations going forward have been rendered useless as this election demonstrated. No liberty candidate out there thinks they can actually win in the kind of environment we have now and after everything that has transpired. Your only options now are Trump never conceding (which I doubt he has the gumption to do), secession, or civil war.

Lawmakers Who Backed Texas Lawsuit Should Be Barred From House: NJ Congressman

Mary Papenfuss·Trends Reporter, HuffPost
Fri, December 11, 2020, 6:30 PM PST

Rep. Bill Pascrell (D-N.J.) has called on House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) to bar 126 GOP representatives from the House, arguing that their support for the failed, baseless Texas lawsuit seeking to hijack the presidential election violated the Constitution.

The Texas suit, supported by 17 other state attorneys general, was rejected Friday by the U.S. Supreme Court. President Donald Trump had attempted to join the self-serving suit, which sought to jettison votes in Georgia, Pennsylvania, Michigan and Wisconsin, whose voters chose President-elect Joe Biden.

Pascrell accused the House members who signed an amicus brief supporting the action — including House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) — of violating the Constitution by seeking to nullify Americans’ votes and instead choose a “dictator.” He cited Section 3 of the 14th Amendment, enacted after the Civil War and designed to keep traitors out of government.

Sedition?

https://www.yahoo.com/news/constitution-answer-seditious-members-congress-113001597.html

Let's review two pieces of news from the last week. First, the American coronavirus pandemic is entering its worst stage yet, with cases and deaths skyrocketing across the country. Last Thursday saw over 3,000 deaths — more than 9/11 or Pearl Harbor — and with ICU beds at or near capacity in most of the country, absent serious change it is possible there will be double or even triple that number per day in a matter of weeks. We may yet top the deadliest day in American history, the Galveston hurricane of 1900 that killed an estimated 8,000 people, very soon. President Trump is doing precisely nothing about this.

Second, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, who is under investigation for bribery and abuse of office, filed a baldly seditious lawsuit calling for the Supreme Court to overturn the election results in Georgia, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, and Michigan, and hand their electoral votes to Trump. It was flatly an attempt to overturn the 2020 election, end constitutional government, and install Trump in power. Before the Supreme Court threw the suit out Friday night, 17 other Republican state attorneys general had joined him, along with 126 members of the Republican caucus in the House, while Senator Ted Cruz (R-Texas) has agreed to represent Trump. And this is just one of dozens of attempts that Republicans at all levels of government have concocted to overturn Trump's loss.

In short, material conditions in this country have not been this bad since 1932 at least, and the political situation has not been this bad since 1860. The logical endgame of the rapidly-accelerating Republican attempt to destroy democracy while the country burns would be civil war — if it weren't for the high probability that Democratic leaders would be too cowardly to fight.

But it's worth thinking about what a party seriously committed to preserving democracy would do when faced with a seditious opposition party — namely, cut them out of power and force them to behave. Democrats could declare all traitors ineligible to serve in national office, convene a Patriot Congress composed solely of people who have not committed insurrection against the American government, and use that power to re-entrench democracy.

Well, it's happened. What ya gonna do about it?

In the long term, our survival, as a people, as a political system, as a culture and history is going to compel a separation. What form that takes or how best to achieve that remains unclear.

In the short term, become our enemies: become ungovernable.

Short sheet, monkey wrench and vandalize the system at every possible turn. Use any way you can come up with, to stymie and resist and hamstring the system. Harass and intimidate members of that system in public wherever they go. Not my president, not my government, you do not have my consent. Give them a hundred "Bundy Ranches" every single day.

Start here folks: 20 years old but still good advice.
