Don't rock the boat! Get in the boat, and try to convince them to let you steer!

I made this non-partisan convention guide to help ALL Texas Delegates understand the convention process. The Texas State Convention is about Texas. It's not about the Presidency. We need to focus on making friends and building coalitions. I plan on using this to make friends, and hopefully move the Texas Republican Party closer to our ideals.

Texas Delegates must realize that because Texas is so late in the primary season, our convention has NEVER been about the presidency. It's about local politics and about Texas. I encourage people to take my advise. Do not talk about Ron Paul specifically. Use the word Republican a lot. If you make any promises to get elected a National Delegate, YOU BETTER KEEP THEM!

ALL POLITICS IS LOCAL. NETWORK WITH NEIGHBORS. BUILD COALITIONS. MAKE FRIENDS.

The most important thing you can do is make ONE convention buddy who is not already a Liberty Lover. Feed them information from this Convention Guide. Attend the Temporary Committee meetings and share the information you learn. If we can all make ONE convention buddy, we can double our numbers. DO IT!

I hope this helps all Texas Delegates completely understand what to expect in Fort Worth next week.

Cheers!

Bumped up ... for those of you going to the convention next week! I wish you the best.

Building coalitions is good, but if Ron Paul supporters have the numbers, they NEED to reject the rules as presented and offer new rules from the floor. Follow the rules and get them changed and take control if possible. I agree that everyone should be civilized, but I think you need to be firm in your support for LIBERTY and the cause (and our figurehead IS Ron Paul)...

True...

We're going in with two plans....one for if we have the majority, and two for if we don't. We'll have to concede some spots if we don't have a clear majority, which will likely be the case.

The Texas State Convention is NOT like anything you've witnessed or read about so far. It's the biggest political convention in the world. There will be anywhere from 5000-11000 delegates. Then we break off into our State Senatorial Districts to conduct state business (Elect our permanent committees to conduct the convention, recommend a State Party Chair and Vice Chair, and elect our SREC Committee Members [State Republican Executive Committee]), and after that, we break off into our US Congressional Districts to conduct national business (National Nominations Committee Member [selects 44 At-Large Delegates], elect 3 national delegates, elect 3 alternate delegates, and elect our RNC Committee man and woman).

The current party chair, Steve Munisteri has been EXTREMELY fair, and we hope to have a fair and open convention this year.
