Man, Debra Medina is a strong voice of freedom in Texas. This speech was amazing, especially in person! The establishment old farts sitting aound me didn't like hearing that that their party leaders were corrupt one bit! They all talk about how bad things are in the party, but they refuse to elect new leadership. I love when she told them that they would all drink the cool-aid...and they totally did. Perry/Medina in 2010!

It was a powerful speech I was there in the back and there were a lot of people who stood up cheering for her. It was awesome!!!
Doh! Guess I'm a bit out of the loop. Thank god ScotTX wasn't talking about Rick Perry. I was worried there for a second.
We narrowly missed getting Perry in on the nomination from our district. But, we had a quick thinker. When we nominated Medina for the vice we were called out of order. The chairman read the rules stating that there had to be a male/female nomination. Since Tina had won our nomination we had to nominate a man (Tina's running mate Robin). One of our members quickly nominated Paul Perry for the vice chair! And guess what - He won the vice chair nomination in our district.
We had hopped that others had thought to do this but he coudn't get the nomination without 3 districts nominating.
How did we get the vote to our side? There was a long recess while we waited to confirm that we could nominate Perry for vice chair. We did lots of talking at that time and apparently we changed enough peoples minds to swing the vote!
That was the highlight of the convention for me.
