I don't think they are going to do it on their own so it's up to us.
Use their contact/tip info sections - cnn, nbc, cbs, etc... if enough people do this maybe they'll actually mention it.

This is my letter to the media:

On the Floor of the House of Representatives today, Presidential Candidate Ron Paul announced that he had submitted a bill to repeal section 1021 of the National Defense Authorization Act - this section, when it was signed into law, allowed the government to permanently detain non citizens and citizens alike indefinitely and without recourse until the "end of hostilities" in the War on Terror.

they probably wont mention it on TV.. maybe online where majority of the voters wont see it >.<;;

but doesnt hurt to try hehe. bombard them with calls and emails. its unfortunate he has to use campaign time to try to repeal this, but that is why Ron is so awesome. just does stuff that needs to be done.

We all need to pummel the MSM and try to force them to at least acknowledge this

Come on - almost 700 people viewing this forum ALONE. So let's get it done!

Ron Paul hasn't done a damn thing in Congress...Isn't this what the media says? Add this to the list...

People should also call their Representative to urge them to co-sponsor the bill.

Eh?

Section 1022 needs to go too!

For anyone who is interested:

1 SEC. 1022. MILITARY CUSTODY FOR FOREIGN AL-QAEDA
2 TERRORISTS.
3 (a) CUSTODY PENDING DISPOSITION UNDER LAW OF
... 4 WAR.—
5 (1) IN GENERAL.—Except as provided in para-
6 graph (4), the Armed Forces of the United States
7 shall hold a person described in paragraph (2) who
8 is captured in the course of hostilities authorized by
9 the Authorization for Use of Military Force (Public
10 Law 107–40) in military custody pending disposition
11 under the law of war.

Paragraph (2) describes terrorists to not include citizens. (Section 1021)

5 (4) WAIVER FOR NATIONAL SECURITY.—The
6 President may waive the requirement of paragraph
7 (1) if the President submits to Congress a certifi-
8 cation in writing that such a waiver is in the na-
9 tional security interests of the United States.

So basically so long as the president submits a "certification" to congress, he can supercede paragraph 2 and indefinitely detain anyone he wants.

Is that the sort of Men you are? Will you now when you are needed most stop at only words? How many times do people speak of Freedom? Do True Patriots act strongly upon their Beliefs of which they have strongly spoken of and in which they so strongly believe?

Here's a great line for Ron Paul to use when discussing this at the debate:

Question: What's the difference between a terrorist and a suspected terrorist ?

Answer: A TRIAL
