do not forget to tip your hat to these folks for not voting for mccain;) sorry rockandrolls:) but the gop needed to learn a lesson.
it is we the people that are registered republicans ,not the corrupt party leadership!!!

That's quite responsible of you guys to vote for someone as a punishment against a political organization. I'm sure you would make our forefathers proud! :)

I think first we have to ask Dr. Paul if a 2012 run is in his blood. But I would be very happy to attend my monthly GOP meeting with the we tried to tellyou mentality, I mean not in a disrespectful way but by pointing out how on could have easily beat Obama especialy with the economy in shambles. I mean who here thinks that Obama could have touched Paul in a debate on the economy?

Ron would have lost against Obama if he were to run last night... No GOP was going to win this round because the position Bush put the GOP.

We should thank the GOP for not electing Ron this go around. Now we have 4 years to push into the GOP and re-create it in our own image.

i voted baldwin, but i am glad they voted for obama, the only people you should be thanking for them voting for obama, is the failed GOP LEADERSHIP, the gop gave them no option.
i thank them for their vote even if it was for obama, electing mccain sure wasn't the answer!!

ooo and my only way to let the gop know i am not happy with them was to vote for anyone but a republican. As a registered republican i am PROUD to say i did not vote for one republican this election and i am not alone since they lost this election months ago by their corrupt actions at our coventions. I do not reward CRIMINALS WITH MY VOTE!!!

bottom line blame the gop leadership not the voters!!

remember the gop doesn't need republicans to win ,last night proved it,bad example oops

i totally agree with you. i suspect the same corrupt BS from the GOP even after they had their asses handed to them on a silver platter!!

I do not believe this, most people even dem's knew Ron is not popular for the most part with the almighty neo-con wing of the Party, this along with his expertise on the economy, he would have handed it to Obama in the debates. Ron would never have run attack ad's he would have told the people the straight talk that should have been talked about. The neo-con philosphy along with Bush's inept leadership and the trumpeting that McCain was another 4 years of Bush they could not have use that with Paul.

Naa... did you see the spread of people supporting Obama... Bush tainted the GOP brand this election, no GOP candidate would have had a shot.

The Polls made it seem closer than it was... Obama won 8 states that were Red last year... That kind of spread is not made up by Ron Paul... sorry.

People want to be a part of history... Ron would have lost.

If the race was closer, perhaps, but this race and result was not even close.

But oh, how the debates would have opened some ears!

Obama vs. Dr. Paul in a nationally televised debate on the economy? Consider that floor mopped!

True, but I am looking for more long lasting change, not a few debates... I want the RP message talked about at water coolers, and in the office... on the radio waves, and by the pundits...

Obama's middle class message during a time of struggle by the middle class would have still resonated.

I sent a message to my local rep and he's not even a repub. =)

and you don't think nationally televised debates would do this?

Not if the end result was the other candidate would trump the freedom message with direct help and support for the middle class.

People haev a hard time understanding that freedom and liberty is the best path to success and help. Ron has always had a hard time connecting liberty and freedom to the middle class mainstream, in how those practices lead to success.

I don't think RP could have won if he got the nomination. Many of the topics he talks about are not discussed at all in the media. He would have been bucking that during the whole campaign. Most voters would have just thought making REAL change isn't needed, and that we (the country) needs an inspirational president.

I've heard the pundits in the media keep saying the president and/or nominee is the leader of the political party. This type of thinking is a mistake, in my opinion. This is how Bush could take down the whole party. He does something wrong, then the whole party takes the blame, hell no! He should take the fall, not the party! At the time deviations from the party platform occurred, the party should have spoken up against him. That's why not only does the party need to be reorganized and it's platform clarified, it needs to stand firmly on its own predefined principles, separate from any candidate the party puts up as its nominee. That way, should a president do stupid things, they cannot affect the party, as the party's position wouldn't waver.

I voted for Chuck :)

Anyway, I don't see the harm in pushing the liberty agenda in all areas of the political spectrum.

Let us recreate the GOP. Call them. Push the liberty agenda in all parties! Liberty is not exclusive to one platform!

If Ron had been running, if he had won the republican nomination, it would have been civil fucking war.

I'd blow up some buildings before we lost THAT election.
