Ted Cruz

Yea, I imagine Cruz will be the Gary Johnson of 2011.

Blurring the line on foreign policy is bad.

It's too early for this to be bad...Sen. Cruz can do a lot of good being prominent right now. As some have indicated, it's almost freaky how high Sen. Paul's star has risen so quickly...don't need to peak to early.

I think it's great that Paul, Cruz and Lee are getting attention for not being squishes. This is the kind of leadership that is needed to win broader support with the GOP.

I'm not even sure I buy into the notion of "peaking too early". That only effects candidates that are hollow straw men devoid of substance and conviction. The public develops perpetual speed dating relationship with certain candidates, which is promulgated by the media, but upon further inspection they learn the candidate is a bit of an empty suit and severely flawed. I don't see that happening with someone that has rockbed principals and are able to articulate those principals effectively.

Since when is it bad for more and more honest and principled politicians to get media coverage? Or would people rather have everyone with a spine completely blacked out?

This is just the media's usual mental masturbation. Cruz is their new DeMint, they act as if there's a ton of support, but really 85% of Americans probably never heard of him.

It's not that at all friend. I've seen this movie more times than one and know how it ends..

Sure if and that could be a big IF Cruz endorses Rand then great! But being schooled at Harvard and the connections you make has me a little worried with what they're trying to do and so early. Besides, when James Carville comes out and says Ted Cruz is the most principled republican in over 30 years that's alarming given the fact that they're already in attack mode on Rand. I trust Mike Lee, but Cruz I do not. They're using him to play the part Rubio would/should be playing.

You have an odd fondness for the word squish, don't you?

The more they talk about Cruz the better. I'd much rather have Rand and Cruz lead the GOP pack than Rand and Rubio.

If Cruz runs, he'll probably only do it to get out early and endorse Rand.

Cruz is a slippery Harvard lawyer with a Goldman Saches hotshot for a wife.

He's sucking up to Rand Paul in order to ingratiate himself and ride his coat tails. He would not hesitate to stab him in the back for his own gain.

I don't trust him as far as I can throw him.

Absolutely!! I didn't want to go that far, but thank you for doing so!

And the bad thing is the guy shouldn't even be eligible to run, same for Rubio...

But since Obamy got by with it Pandora's box is already open I'm afraid. I knew once the first news article came out about Cruz possibly wantin to run for pres this was what they're going to do. I can see it now in the debates, Cruz getting twice the airtime as Rand does. Using these two to divide the rhetoric they speak allowing the more hawkish liberals to slip right in. Ted, please prove me wrong!

If Rand Paul held the same viewpoint as you two, would he be working with Cruz the way he is?

Guess it all depends on whether Cruz considers himself a man of the people or one of the insiders. Rand has to know him pretty well and whether or not he'll stab him in the back.

He was a great ally during the filibuster. I'll keep my eye on him, but he won a ton of respect from me that day and until he does something to lose it, I'm a fan.

Don't fall for the mainstream media's BS. Cruz is NOT going to run in 2016. They are lying, just like how they lied about Ron and Rand advising Amash not to run for Senate.

Divide and conquer.
