First The Blaze, then The American Spectator, then The Hill, then Townhall, then the Dallas Morning News, then Frontpage Magazine, now the Sarasota GOP declares constitutionalist hero Ted Cruz their person of the year.

2014 Statesman Of The Year

Ted Cruz
U.S. Senator & Conservative Champion

In 2012, Ted Cruz was elected as the 34th U.S. Senator from Texas. Ted’s election was described by the Washington Post as “the biggest upset of 2012 . . . a true grassroots victory against very long odds.”

A passionate fighter for liberty, economic growth, and the Constitution, Ted has seen first-hand the miracle of freedom and opportunity in America. Ted's father was imprisoned and tortured in Cuba, and he fled to Texas in 1957, penniless and not speaking a word of English. He washed dishes for 50 cents an hour, paid his way through the University of Texas, and started a small business working towards the American dream.

Before being elected, Ted received national acclaim as the Solicitor General of Texas, the state's chief lawyer before the U.S. Supreme Court. Ted has authored more than 80 U.S. Supreme Court briefs and argued 43 oral arguments--including nine before the U.S. Supreme Court. During Ted’s service as Solicitor General, Texas achieved an unprecedented series of landmark national victories, including successfully defending U.S. sovereignty from the World Court and the United Nations, the Second Amendment right to keep and bear arms, the Texas Ten Commandments monument, and the words "under God" in the pledge of allegiance.

In the Senate, Ted serves on the Commerce Committee; the Armed Services Committee; the Judiciary Committee; the Special Committee on Aging; and the Rules Committee.

Ted graduated with honors from Princeton University and with high honors from Harvard Law School. He served as a law clerk to Chief Justice William Rehnquist on the U.S. Supreme Court. He was the first Hispanic ever to clerk for the Chief Justice of the United States.

Ted and his wife Heidi live in his hometown of Houston, Texas, with their two young daughters, Caroline and Catherine.

^^^This

Is Jeb Bush's son, Prescott, still running his PAC?

His wife I'm sure still works for Goldman Sachs?

What did he do last year to receive an award such as this? Nothing.

Ted Cruz doesn't have a PAC and Heidi Cruz is a low level Manager at GS.

Heidi Cruz is a managing director. Perhaps not all that high on the global organization chart, but I wouldn't call it a low level managerial position.

Regarding his PAC, from http://www.newsmax.com/Politics/ted-cruz-gop-fundraising/2013/10/16/id/531371

===
The Ted Cruz Victory Committee, his joint fundraising committee, raised almost $800,000 in the third quarter, which is almost double what it raised from April 1 to June 30, The Washington Post reports.

When combined with the money raised by the Ted Cruz for Senate reelection committee and the Jobs Growth and Freedom Fund, his leadership PAC, his total comes to $1.19 million for the third quarter. In the second quarter, his committees raised over $1 million.

===

Dunno what your definition of a PAC is, but he certainly has PAC's supporting him.

Ted Cruz is... okay (for a garden-variety conservative), but he's got a long way to go before he's anywhere NEAR "Statesman of the Year" material.

Seen this propaganda over and over and over, again...

Ted Cruz is a true conservative constitutionalist hero and everyone on this forum should be proud to call him a friend of the liberty movement and a champion of freedom.

I wish I had a neg rep to smack you with right now. Unfortunately, I don't.

"Champion of freedom" who wants to murder kids in Iran and Syria? If that's so, I don't want to be a "champion of freedom."

Ted Cruz = Bush 3.0

So its come down to this. The GOP fanboys repeating the same lie over and over hoping it somehows become truth. How many "constitutionalists" call for the President to ignore the 10th amendment or advocate a pre-emptive strike on Iran. That's all they have left, just repeating lies over and over hoping for the best.
