Ted Cruz attacks Rand for voting against NSA bill that didn't have enough reforms

Walker is intellectually challenged and gaffe prone...

So far, Walker's had a lot of positive coverage by the Republican media, but very few in-person appearances (e.g. interviews).

....maybe they're protecting him from his own lackluster personality?

I'll be curious to see how his numbers change when he starts getting that kind of attention.

It seems like Cruz has a Rand obsession. Rand did his filibuster, and Cruz gave a long speech that everyone calls a filibuster. Rand announces his announcement date, and Cruz rushes to announce first. And now the attacks start.
I don't know whether Rand ever considered Cruz a close ally but since he was first elected to senate, Cruz has only ever been about one thing - self-aggrandizement.

They're protecting him from stuff like this:

And then there is this:

At events, Walker doesn't take any questions from the audience. It's usually a 30min prepared speech and then he leaves. Unless it's a close-door event, then he'll take some softball questions from the host. Even then, he might still slip up.

Walker is intellectually challenged and gaffe prone. But I agree that he is a big threat and might go far, because he has the establishment backing, including that of Fox News. Priebus is also a close friend/backer of Walker's, which is significant.

This "elected 3 times in a blue state" is somewhat of a fallacy that the GOP keeps pushing. 8 out of 16 Wisconsin governors in the post-war era have been Republican, including 4 out of the last 6. Wisconsin is only truly a blue state in the presidential election (in the last 10 cycles, the only Republican who won Wisconsin was Reagan). Walker's approval ratings are also currently at its lowest since 2011. If Walker wins the nomination, he will not be able to carry his home state against Hillary, just like how Romney lost his.
I understand that Wisconsin isn't a true blue state, but the Fox News types love to push that idea. Taking on the unions and winning gives him a lot of street cred amongst Republicans. It's not about what actually happened, it is about how it is framed and Walker has framed it brilliantly.

Rand doesn't have a response on his Senate website's News / Press link regarding this. Ron seemed to always provide an explanation on his Congressional website on his votes. I posted a question at Rand's website on this.

Rand talked about it at the time. It reauthorized parts of the Patriot Act. Cruz is saying Rand should have left his principles behind and voted for something that's supposedly a step in the right direction.
