You could also consider the "visiting teacher" program for kids with medical conditions that do not allow them to attend classroom studies.That would mean that you go and teach the kid where they are vs classroom.

I am a high school science teacher and my own kids are in their 20s. If I could do it all again, I would have home schooled my own kids and would be in a different line of work. While there are moments of brilliance and wonder, overall its an uphill trek with very little progress. All I can say is thank God for my advanced kids, otherwise my days would be a complete loss of endless behavior and apathetic issues.
