Who is protecting the kids she is teaching? She is. What would you expect her to do when this child is in a rage without the mental capacity to understand what he is doing? I think you'd be surprised by the havoc that the tards can inflict when they are out of control.

Nope, and there were repercussions. I also don't think it is OK for a student of any mental level to disrupt learning without repercussions. I guarantee you that this was not the first time.
Tell me this... if a student endangers everyone around themselves, what do you think should be done about it? Wait til they injure someone else? Wait til they kill someone else?

And where was there indication the kid was becoming violent? The kid was starved as a child. The teacher withheld food, it doesn't take a mental giant to figure out that's probably not a way you should punish the kid. Neither is sitting on them until they die. If the kid was becoming that disruptive, then either the kids parent needs to be brought in, or the police.
Kill a child and you're fired and have to move to find another job. Hug a child and you're branded a sex offender for life and can't go near a school. No wonder they're having to pass laws against home schooling to keep the schools full.
