It's the other way around for me. I don't know why. Maybe it's because I've always preferred older men and because I'm thinking of myself at 24 and can't imagine a 14 year old boy as a sexual partner or because I'm the parent of a 15 year old boy and can't imagine what a 24 year old woman would see in him.

The post you responded to made the general statement that women have a higher sexual market value than men. That remains true with or without the "alpha males" you are referring to.

You'll notice in your original post, that it wasn't enough to refer to these "alpha males" because they can be outrageously hot and manly and still find themselves on the low end of the "sexual market value" scale if they don't have "earning potential." So, I respectfully disagree back. Even "sexy" men don't have much real value without earnings potential. Sexy women, on the other hand...

I think the whole idea that someone is a sexual predator because there was an attraction between 2 people and one of them happens to be older than the magical cutoff age, (and one younger) is ludicrous. I think the big problem is that nobody really knows how to define who is a kid and when does that change into a maturity level at the point where sexual interactions can take place with proper consent.

Personally I disagree with having sex before marriage. I don't try to force that view on anyone but I laugh when people tell me you have to "test drive the car first" or "try that shoe on." My wife and I married as virgins and have a great healthy relationship. Sure maybe I missed out on some fun along the way, but I don't think I missed out on getting hitched with the right person for me.

But I see arbitrary age limitations as anti freedom and doesn't really stop crime. I also see it as a failure of people to raise their kids up not to be obsessed with banging everything with a hole or whatever's. I wouldn't view the woman as a sexual predator and she shouldn't be tried criminally as one- she engaged in a consensual relationship.
