You realize how far away this is, and that it all depends on how rapidly the steering currents align to either suck this thing into a traditional recurve, or let it nudge into the Gulf? Even if you're going to flail your arms and cry "HAARP!" you might wait until it actually gets a little closer.

yeah what is really bad is the non-stop rain we are getting just a week out from a possible T.S. scrape. This is great tho, the Tampa Bay Metro area is trying to come together for this huge political upheaval.

I am hearing tons and tons of Ron Paul chatter from people I didn't expect to hear from, so a really good opportunity to spread liberty is right here. This will have a long lasting effect for my hometown, and hopefully set in motion stronger local movements for our allies!

The models have been real wishy washy on this system, so I wouldn't worry yet. Some have kept this an open wave, others have put it out to sea and some have moved as far W as Texas. It is possible it could happen though, so be prepared:

in live weather chats for the tampa bay area. I would recommend anyone coming to Tampa for the convention save these links on their mobiles right away.

This guy forecast a tornado going right over my north pinellas house a good 30 minutes before it actually did.

He does 1 hour live weather chats every night at 7pm. He calls the Rays games, responds directly to chat comments in real time. Skypes with NOAA chiefs, university professors of weather, people in the UK and all over the place.

The bridge to Davis Islands was temporarily closed shortly after 10 p.m., after a large sign fell into the roadway. Officials worked feverishly to reopen the only route to Tampa General Hospital.Also in downtown Tampa, tents and potted plants that were set up near the Franklin St. entrance to the Convention Center were knocked down.

the bridge they shut down goes over bayshore blvd. the next bridge up goes over the mouth of the hillsborough river under the convention center to the forum and is at the end of bayshore blvd.

I remember watching Charley. That thing BOMBED out over the Gulf of Mexico. Was heading towards Tampa, but to a turn to the northeast earlier than expected.
