Hey everyone, what do you think about organizing a Ron Paul "Rock the Revolution" event during SXSW this year? We'd need a venue first and foremost. Thoughts?

I'm generally in favor of these things.

I would argue that the shows should be 3 days before the primary and/or caucus in the major city or major college town in that state. Typically.

SXSW is a special case. There will be a lot of acts there and it shouldn't be too difficult to get some of them to play.

The official shows are at night. The parties are during the day. As I recall. I'm not saying one is better than the other or anything just that it might be easier during the day.

I own a building on East 7th Street in central east Austin. We can set up a small stage in the parking lot in front if needed.

2604 East 7th Street.

2604 East 7th Street is right next to the El Azteca Restaurant.

Pretty central location relatively close to the Fader Fort and East East 6th street bars.

Holy crap. Where do all these bands perform?

Seeing that you're in PA, a much worse version of SXSW will be taking place in Harrisburg, PA next month, as it has for the last 15 years.
Millenium Music Conference. Hundreds of bands, 20-30 venues, etc etc. Music Conference and Festival. There's one in Dewey Beach in the Fall. CMJ in New York is about the same size as SXSW.
