I always find the argument that the Ukrainians are wasting and stealing all of the money that they need for defense to be kind of funny.

For 100s of years the Russian empire grew by taking over territory and expanding their borders by force.

They conquered an entire region the size of the continental United States east of the Mississippi in the 19th century in east asia.
