Is the C4L doing anything to recruit more members to the C4L? Team Sarah. org has 60,000 members and they were just formed! We need to increase our numbers around the country. No wonder why were considered "fringe."

Is there anyway we can start like a "Member Surge" or something to try to attract more members?

I'm positive that all the Ron Paul supporters ( 1.8 million votes in the primaries) have not signed up, or even know about the C4L.

Ok. What do you think we can do to spread the word? I'm serious. It's like we're waiting for those 5 or so people who get some kind of pittance from C4L to do everything for us. Remember the WE ARE RON PAUL? Well, WE ARE CAMPAIGN FOR LIBERTY too.

So, what can WE do to spread the word? Ideas? :)

Well what has happened so far is that we've been going after the big cities: Minneapolis for R4R ( and yes I know that went with the GOP Convention), ETF in major cities, March on Washington, Tea Party.

How about we assemble smaller groups to go after smaller cities and towns.

This movement is based a lot on grassroots, and freedom, so let's go after the county instead of the state.

A couple weeks back I held a student protest because the name of our town got changed. I got all my friends and we facebooked it, got the word out, and had about 50 students come and protest outside our municipal building, and march to our school. We had all the parents listening to us, we had 3 newspapers and our state wide news channel there. And it was the start to a much bigger movement now, of about 250 adults, to end this name change.

If we could get 10-15 C4L's together to hold a small rally/protest/march/etc... Try to attract some new people, advertise it over town, and just hold a nice, small, town/county "get-together." Invite the local press, and get the name out. Talk to people on a personal basis, give out literature and DVD's.

We do have 90,000+ members, if we leave the big cities alone for a few months and focus on the small towns.

Remember the campaign only has information of people who donated to Ron Paul, not those who voted for him. Those who donated to him is a much smaller number. Also keep in mind the 80/20 rule.

hmmm... by my calculations, we have 136363 precincts in the US, soo...

1.5 precincts per member
7.7 precincts per user account
118 precincts per precinct leader

hmmm... Houston, I think we have a problem!

What is the advantage of increasing the numbers of the C4L?

I mean in NE Florida we have spent the last 8 months building the Republican Liberty Caucus of Northeast Florida.

We have convinced a majority of the area Ron Paul Meetup Members to join, pay dues and stay active. We have produced very high quality literature that cost us thousands of dollars. We have established a brand and a decent reputation. We have a strategy and goals for 2009.

Now why should we spend time and effort convincing our 150+ members to join the C4L & pay additional dues? What is the benefit? It almost seems as though it would be a distraction from the important work of advancing the cause of liberty. We do have members who follow the activities of the C4L and keep us abreast of developments, but it is difficult to keep the majority of activists plugged into 1 organization, let alone 2.

I believe they plan to implement a system to reach out to previous donors/volunteers/etc. soon.
Their goal is 10,000 precinct leaders
($35 x 10,000 = $350,000 = the cost of expansive voter database with updates)

All I'm going to say is that the focus on doing everything one can to "increase the number of members" is a bit ...well to be frank, childish.

It reminds me of someone who goes out looking for more people to be his "friends" -- and all he is interested in is increasing the "quantity" of people that he then will call his "friends" -- but in the meantime he doesn't actually DO anything else, has no hobbies, interests, engages in no activities, etc... he just wants more and more people to say they are his "friends."

Seriously, think about it... if the CFL is actively DOING things that people want to be a part of, then they will join; if it is not, then they won't.

Yeah, but by increasing our member numbers were increasing educuation and activism.

It is all a numbers game though, no need to cherry pick or locate dedicated members when it does in the end come down to numbers alone. A larger base of members = a larger contact list who might know OTHER people who can help even if that current member is doing jack.

All it takes is lazy members with large contact lists emailing them with new cfl info and then the active members will surface as they come.

Work on getting one member then work on getting two and just keep going instead of worrying about why we don' have 10 million yet.

Probably in December I will print up a bunch of literature and drop it door to door in my area.

ive been trying to spread the word of C4L, by making videos promoting it.
im going to start making a series called the ron paul 3d studios, ill put the web address in the video.

Best be careful! - Don't you know that the CFL doesn't want their name or logo associated with anything they haven't blessed, vetted and OK'd? - have to pass everything by the lawyers - ya know. Wouldn't want to get their panties in a wad...
