Law is weird, a bakery can't use freedom of religion to refuse doing business with an LGBT couple, but a citizen can use religion to refuse to follow a company policy.

Not that I am a fan of Abercombie or their policy just the decision from the court, especially Scalia and Roberts
 
This sucks big time; i am a huge fan of a private business being able to refuse access to anyone for any reason they like and this should include who they allow to work for them. Don't want me to shop/work at your store because of the color of my skin who i sleep with or who i know to be God, please tell me upfront so i can refuse to shop there.

This verdict would have far reaching repercussions. This also means if current US President's muslim grandma is otherwise able to work at a US clothing store.. she cannot be stopped because of her garb. Perhaps SCOTUS knows what it is doing.

This may be old issue , there has been some pretty bad precedences setup especially since SWC puppet regime was installed for OIF apology. A CA private hotel owner was fined $3-4 millions for asking non-paying friends of suspected war criminals party to remove their banners/leave hotel swimming pool apparently:

UPDATE: Eighteen individuals and one business entity sought damages against the Shangri La Hotel and its owner, Tehmina Adaya, for a variety of claims stemming from events at the hotel in July 2010. Specifically, the plaintiffs alleged violations of the Unruh Act based on religious and national origin discrimination. As of February 11, 2013, the Court announced it will award attorneys' fees totaling $2,099,785 to the individual Plaintiffs on the Unruh Act claims.
(Washington, DC)--Following five days of deliberation, a Los Angeles County Superior Court jury ruled in favor of Dickstein Shapiro's clients, largely consisting of members of the young leadership group of Friends of the Israel Defense Forces, awarding in excess of $1.6 million in damages. The award includes approximately $1,200,000 in compensatory damages and $455,000 in punitive damages.

Two years ago, a jury found Tehmina Adaya, the owner of the chic Santa Monica Shangri-La hotel to have discriminated against a group of Jews by shutting down a party at the hotel organized by Friends of the Israel Defense Forces (FIDF)..
The jury awarded $3.7 million to the plaintiffs and their lawyers.

Conversely, what's a store to do if they get some nudist who believes some deity doesn't want them to wear clothes applies for a job? With over 300 recognized religions in the US some lawyers may be kept rather busy.
 
I read the article. Looks like she was not an employee, and she did not get the job. She was suing because she was not hired in the first place. I am sure there are plenty of places who chose not to hire me for some BS reason that makes no sense. I didn't sue them. How can anybody claim this is a win for liberty?
