With Ron Paul always being ignored in the media we need to find a way to get around the MSM and go straight to the people. During the last campaign we had several showings in the gaming world. We established the <RP Revolution> on Whisperwind for a large march in Azeroth that drew thousands of people. I myself, set up a raiding guild called <Vote Ron Paul> which later became <The Revolution>.

The difference between these two guilds and efforts is that one was merely a blip that seems forgotten to everyone whereas <VRP> had a solid enduring presence that will be remembered by thousands of people. No campaign manager ever paid me to do this and I happily just up and did it on my own. Before we reformed into <The Revolution> the thousands who participated on that server knew who Ron Paul was and we had tremendous support.

Our server for <VRP> and <Revo> has virtually died now as many of the lower pop servers in WoW have begun to dwindle but we did get Server First Guild Level 25 and Working as a Team and even many first kills before the summer came and the new lure of the Cataclysm expansion wore off.

So, I am open to the idea of re-creating a Ron Paul guild but on a larger server. But I'd like support, people who would serve as guild officers and help handle the day to day operations of managing a WoW Guild.

Now, WoW isn't the only game we can utilize. You can spread name recognition for Dr. Paul in other games simply by editing your gamer tag or founding a Ron Paul guild or tribe or clan or whatever they're called in your game, fact of the matter is the only way we can win this election is if we make the MSM irrelevant and the online MMO gaming community is our best bet to do this.

We must make FOX, CNN, ABC, CBS, NBC, NPR and the other state-controlled media propaganda outlets a thing of the past and bring the high tide of freedom and the 21st century to full bear on them so that they are brought to the brink of collapse and forced to recognize that Ron Paul is the candidate of the people.

Considering that millions upon millions play online MMO games each day, this needs to be one of our lines of circumventing the media.

If there is enough support for helping manage this guild throughout the 2012 election then I will get started on it, but I'm not very eager to go it alone.

I'd like to take the next Ron Paul guild into competitive raiding on the top high pop servers. If anyone is interested, you know what to do.

Just let me know what server and I'd be glad to re-activate my account and come play with you guys. I haven't played in two years but I was just considering re-activating my account the other day :)

At the moment, <Vote Ron Paul> is defunct on the dying Balnazzar server and <The Revolution> is getting by on life support but the server is just dead now. I have made a few lvl 85 toons on Mal'Ganis which is a full high pop server that enjoys a lot of the top US raiding guilds. I have not yet decided if I want to make a Ron Paul guild there or not because I'd like to have some volunteer officer / raiders. Most of the other old officers / raiders have simply stopped playing after many years.

Whisperwind actually is a pretty decent server also and we have some skeletal infrastructure built there already. It would be a task to transfer my toons there but with enough support I might consider leveling the toons I have there already.

Fact of the matter is, the trade district of Orgrimmar or Stormwind in a lot of servers can be viewed as a nexus of human activity. A crossroads for thousands of people. Park a lvl 1 toon there with a guild tag like <Vote Ron Paul> and it will probably get seen and noticed by a thousand people during the day. I know, I've done it. Its like having a volunteer up with a sign at the street corner of a busy intersection.

You don't want to overwhelm a server but a nice noticeable presence that reinforces Dr. Paul's name to thousands of people on a daily basis is a golden opportunity. I notice that it takes maybe a 100 guild members to really have a noticeable guild name tag. Heck, I wouldn't even think doing it on one server would be enough. We should make small guilds on as many servers as we can and just AFK camp the trade districts with our <Vote Ron Paul> name tags.

I have played wow for years, but atm I'm soo bored with it and cancelled my account last month. With how guilds work nowadays with reputation and such, it's gonna be hard to convince people to leave their guilds. Do you intend for this guild to be full of 85's or just alts?

Birdlady, yes. I know the guild reputation makes it difficult to leave a guild... unless of course you've already hit exalted and bought all of your guild perks.
It doesn't need to be all lvl 85s but I would like it to be active players. Looking at a guild roster and seeing that people haven't logged on in months isn't something I care to look at. The whole purpose of it is really just name recognition and people who don't log in and at least AFK in Org or Stormwind aren't helping to do that. >.<

If you're an experienced player than you can be someone that a noob can admire and look up to just by power leveling them for a spell or two. I turned on hundreds of players who never heard of Ron Paul simply by giving them free runs through SM Cath and then having them come back a few days later telling me how great they thought Dr. Paul was after they learned about him through playing WoW. Rather than quitting the game, many of them toughed it out to lvl 70 or 80 and became raiders.

Its been a re-run of my life for the past 5 years now and I'm positive that its helped to make a difference in finding people to switch their vote to Dr. Paul but I feel its not been enough. I've also done this through great personal sacrifice to my career and education which depresses me heavily at time but have had an overwhelming OCD to sperad Dr. Paul's name through this game.

If this is to work, more people besides me are going to have to roll up their sleeves and kill nothing but Bores in the forest for a few months. (south park reference) >.<
Don't need a lot, don't need thousands of people, just a few. We don't even have to do it on the same server or know each other or play together. Do your own danged thing. Personally, I'm cool with it either way, a reliable raid team is always a bonus though.

If you want to make a <Vote Ron Paul> guild on some server, go for it. AFK next to the AH or Bank.

Consider this, if you guys really wanted to, we could buy a level 25 guild and then change the guild name. It is possible. Most lvl 25 guild leaders will typically sell a guild for around 100k gold. I have a few contacts that might hook me up for around 50k gold and then its just a matter of submitting a ticket and having the guild name changed which they apparently are capable of doing now.

I already have a server first lvl 25 guild but the server is so low pop it wouldn't be worth it to fulfill the purpose we'd be trying to achieve.

Lol how did I know you were gonna be posting here...

I played ffxi aion ffxiv. But don't play anymore.used to play ffxi for like 6 years. Thats pretty awesome picture!! I was the leader of the biggest oldest guild in our server. Those were fun times! Wish I was still playing, I'd do something like that too!

haha You caught me!

There was a Steam RP group I was apart of years ago. I have no idea if that is still up and running or if a new one has been created. I haven't logged into TF2 for years.

wowrevolution,
I think the Wow guild idea is a great idea. I honestly am soo bored with WoW it is hard for me to even stay logged in. I log on, try to do a BG, get annoyed and usually log off within 15 minutes. Last time around there was a lot more response to this because WoW was doing better as a company/game. Nonetheless, once I get some extra money, I will be resubscribing and I will see what I can do to help out. :)

Well if you can come up with another idea feel free to try it out. I know the Star Wars MMO is coming out soon and I might create a guild there. WoW has gotten a lot more boring with the current content. They are adding a new feature called "Transmorgraphication" which allows you to use skins for old gear on top of your highest gear's stats with 4.3 and so there has been a renewed interest in everyone doing old content. So if you want to be wearing your T6 set while having T12 stats you'll be able to do that in 4.3. If you stopped playing last month then you would have just missed that change.

That would have to be a Republic guild, I'm assuming. I joined a guild early, but it suffers from inactivity.

I'm rolling smuggler. I chose it, because the smuggler seems to have more freedom than the other Republic classes.

I just came back to wow, I hadn't played in a couple years. Playing on Lightbringer a high pop Alliance server. I'd be willing to roll a new character or maybe transfer if you choose a different server or faction. Just let me know on here or shoot me a PM.

Hey Chainspell, I played FFXI for 6 years myself (Fairy & Remora). I wanted FFXIV to be just like FFXI, but it was just such a horrible launch ._.;;

I might play SWTOR just for the single player aspect as it seems MMO's these days have lost its label (WoWification of the genre has turned it from a Massively Multiplayer Role Playing Game to a Single Player Chattable interface Action Game). Where are all the role playing and story elements? Where are the challenging content for parties and multiple groups of players? Where is the community? I really do hate WoW and miss FFXI. :/

I'll probably get Battlefield 3 also as that looks to be pretty good; unsure on Diablo III also. The games today just are hugely lacking compared to the earlier days.

I play call of duty black ops on ps3 and my playercard emblem says RON PAUL. I am pretty good so people see it a lot :)

Right On. I dig this thread. I play BattlefieldHeroes a F2P online game. One of my characters is named "RonPaul.".

I had a Ron Paul avatar on PokerStars in 07-08. I saw quite a few others there as well. Too bad they got seized by the feds and we can no longer play (at least not from the land of the free)

No offense, but reaching WoW players isnt a good consolation prize for being blacked out in the MSM. Online gaming is a niche hobby for adolescent white males, and we already dominate that demographic anyway. If you want to spread the message of liberty, talk up Dr. Paul at your local bar, or at your church, or go outside and canvas. We're not going to win anything by just sitting behind a computer.

I don't see online gaming as a productive environment to spread Paul. First off if you yell "RON PAUL 2012!!!" no one is going to respond negatively unless you spam. In other words your preaching to the choir or to people who aren't going to vote neway, because voting takes place on raid night, and they don't want to miss out on loot!
