Ron Paul Superbowl Ad lets do it. Highest priced Superbowl ad was 3.5 mil last year.... Not possible

Better ways to spend money and too late in my opinion. Also, with current fundraising momentum I doubt we could fund it.

Super Bowl is in early February, perhaps a little late?

Too expensive, and people will not be wanting to see political ads during our favorite holiday of the year.

It wouldn't have to be political... half the time you don't even know what the ad is about until the last two seconds.

I think this would be an incredible buy... but probably too late. I don't know what the attitude of a 3rd party run is here on the forums... but if that were to happen, what a great way to announce it that would be.

This superbowl idea keeps getting brought up and people keep explaining that it's not an efficient way of getting votes. Stop bringing it up.

What a monumental waste of money and effort that would be. Even if they would run political ads. Which they won't.

We REALLY need a thread called "Stupid ideas already discussed four years ago. Don't recycle, please!"

The only way it could ever be worth the immense cost would be if it was incredibly clever or funny, and was brought up in the media afterwords when they talk about all the funniest and best Superbowl commercials. That way you could extend the life of it, and add in that free extra publicity.

Not seeing it, though.

Superbowl ads are not expensive if you buy on local networks.

Let's not forget that only 2 (3?) states are having elections the following week:
DATE -------- STATE ---------- DELEGATES ----- # PLEDGED/UNPLEDGED
Feb 4-11 ------ Maine ------------- 24 delegates (caucus) --------- 0/24
Feb 7 ---------- Colorado ---------- 36 delegates (caucus) --------- 36/0
Feb 7 ---------- Minnesota --------- 40 delegates (caucus) --------- 0/40

Denver's going to be out of the playoffs after Sunday.

The Vikings didn't make the playoffs.

Sure, people in Colorado and Minnesota will be watching the game ... but it's not even the best of scenarios.

Can we get a beating a dead horse icon for these threads?

It's the internets ... you can have anything you want!

big dog ad would have been perfect for it. lol

We definitely are getting a lot of mileage from that ad. If only the SB were practical, that ad would have been a good one for it. However, still not practical and Political ads not allowed anyway. :p
