Suggestions for the Revolution March Video

So I watched the Revolution March video and on second viewing I really, really like it. But I'm sure it will turn off a lot of people who watch it only once because it is so angry and has "violence" written all over it.

Turbulent music, rousing quotes, violent imagery (boot in the sand) etc... If I were someone sitting on the fence I'd be afraid to go to that march because I'd expect violence to happen.

The government would probably want for things to get violent at a time they can still control it, allowing them to discredit the entire movement. They could send agents provocateurs and then say, "look at their video, no wonder they started shooting" or whatever.

Another way to think about it: Can you imagine Ron Paul putting up that video at his site and/or openly associating himself with it? I can't...

Don't get me wrong, I really love the video, I just don't think it will allow us to maximize our numbers.

Thoughts?

PS: If nothing else, the makers should at least fix the two grammatical errors at 1:08:

"Our country will stand in need of its experienced patriots to prevent its ruin." (not it's).

Plus 1:58 who's -> whose

With that in mind, I think maybe this one would help to rally people....tell me what you think...

Do You Hear the People Sing? They're singing the praises of Congressman Ron Paul, the only presidential candidate who is a true advocate of liberty and the Constitution. His campaign has sparked a real Revolution all across America and it's not over yet by a long shot.

Audio is from the Les Miserables 10th Anniversary Concert: performed by Michael Maguire, cast, company and chorus.

idea

The video that on the opening page is awesome . But I guess for people that aren't totally aware what this country is up against maybe it is too extreme . How about something like " Are you upset with the direction YOUR country is going , Tired of the on going wars in iraq and afghanistan, tired of being the worlds police force and seeing OUR family members and friends killed and mamed . Not to mention the taxes !!! Then do something . Join us july 12th in Washington for a peaceful means to let YOUR government know how you feel !!! That is just an idea of mine . I am not video savy so if anyone wants to take the idea and run with it be my guest Also if a more sheeple friendly video is made I don't think the original video should be take down, maybe just put somewhere else . I enjoy watching that video every once and awhile just as an motivational tool !!!!!!!

Hi all - this one probably is a bit extreme but I created it before I read your previous posts....I can work on a new one if that will help at all.... let me know what you guys think...

I like it... great editing!

Suggestions:

1:51 acheive -> achieve

4:31 the "m" of .com is in the next line!

It's not extreme at all (at least IMO :) ) ... and it doesn't have the violent vibe as the original video. Great job!

I think what we need in addition to that is a 60 to 90 second long video that exclusively promotes the march and that only talks about what most people can agree on. In other words:

do mention: pro-freedom, anti-war, anti-inflation, anti-taxation, anti-illegal-immigration (only in a tasteful way)

don't mention: conspiracies, global warming (too many different opinions out there), 9/11, terrorism

Such a video could be shown and promoted on all sorts of websites without alienating a large percentage of viewers. Maybe the guideline should be this: "Would Ron Paul put up the video at his website?" (He won't because he can't promote the march, but if he could, then that's the kind of video that would appeal to the largest possible audience.)

Well personally I'm not moved at all, it's not my kind of music I guess. Maybe if it were rewritten (with the suggested lyrics) and remixed?

Great song and great video! But there's no mention of the Revolution March date inside the video.

I believe any video should mention the URL and date throughout the video so that everyone gets to see it, even those who don't actually watch the video.

Right on! That sounds a lot more "sheeple friendly", that's the expression I was looking for I guess :)

as the producer of the video you are not happy with..let me ask....do you make videos? because if you do...perhaps you should make one. if you don't...perhaps you should learn to make them so you can see how tedious the process is. not everyone is going to like the video...that's fine. but after i worked an entire week on it...someone comes in and says...it's violent? are you kidding me? There is not one violent thing in that video.

And NO...I will not go in and fix a few frames because of grammatical errors. (I copied and pasted those quotes from thinkexsist.com. My bad if i if I didn't check them for errors.) That would require me to delete the entire video from youtube. Which means: It loses all of it's views, comments, ratings. the many websites that have linked to the vid will have broken links. THEN I would have to redo 2 frames...save it...which takes forever....upload it...which takes too long...and then REpromote it and tell everyone where the new vid is. Um, no thank you.

BTW, revolutionmarch.com did not pay for the video. I am doing vids on a volunteer basis. How much can one complain if it was free? If you would like for me to change the grammatical errors your welcome to to pay me $75 to compensate for the time I'll be taking away from my photography business just to fix it.

I'm not angry....I'm just tired of ppl complaining about something I did to help out. The "it's violent" comment pisses me off though.

BTW...here's a "peaceful" one I made which ppl seemed to complain about too and asked for something more like the We the People 2.0.

I guess I'm damned if I do...damned if I don't. By FAR, RP supporters have been some of the pickiest ppl I have ever met. Not all...just 75% of them.

FreedomRings...I guess you're out of luck as I am on the Video Production team at revolutionmarch.com and *gasps* they have have me working on a moneybomb vid. Bummer, I know. I should have my next violent production out by friday. Get ready...it will be the fall of civilization...this vid will be so violent. People: Are You Ready? </sarcasm>

Have a nice day.

Flames, I love your video. I've posted it elsewhere and had a whole thread going (non RP folks) saying it gave them chills (in a good way) and really moved them. It moved me, too. The music is perfect imo. I think you did an awesome job!

see, that's what I was curious about. I was wondering if non RP supporters would feel as moved by it as RP folks are.

Glad to hear they like it.:)

Let me clarify: I am not angry. I try to be open to criticism. I learn from it. What does irritate me is the fact that some are saying it's a violent video. I am not a violent person by any means. I practice what I preach...and that's nonviolence.

The purpose of the video was to explain...hey! Your gov. is screwing you over....and these people before our time even knew it was going to happen. Here are some quotes...they say we should take action. Nowhere in the video does it say to go to DC to take over the gov. by violence. It says: we are going to march for freedom, peace, prosperity. That line states our purpose. The graphic with the boot on concrete...that's a graphic someone had made as a banner. Boot mark...march...it's relative. It's a visual. It wasn't a boot mark on someones face. lol.

The rousing music....well, did you want funeral procession music? You have to know how to get ppl excited. Ppl like the vid. Why? Because I follow movie trailer format. When you're at the movies.....it's trailers like this that make you say: "WOW. That movie is going to be awesome. What day does it start? I HAVE to see it." It's all about selling whatever it is you're promoting and appealing to the masses.

The Video Rocks

Flames, you did an incredible job, and the video is PERFECT, in my opinion...errors and all.

I watch this video frequently (I saw someone mention this earlier) to up my motivation when I am feeling discouraged by all the bullshite.

Don't change a thing. Can't wait to see the next one.

lol. Susan, you're th best.:D

Oooh I sent you an email about the IM conference:)

THere is another one out just like it with the June 21st date on it... I tried emailing the person that uploaded it but never heard back :( I will try again tho and see what I can do.... Thanks...

Flames... I DO like your video very much!! I have it as my default on You Tube and keep spamming the heck out of my space with it....The 2 vids I passed on were only to add to yours, not down grade it at all.... Let Freedom Ring really gets my blood pumping... and thought it was a good one for the march... I didn't mean to step on your toes dear... promise....

lpl. You didn't step on my toes. I don't have some weird monopoly on DC march vids. heehee. I was just responding to the OP who could have just sent me a message instead of bashing my vid on a public forum. THey could have sent a message then posted a thread asking if there were other march vids. But nooooo, mine got called out. I'm all for people making more vids. Heck...we need money bomb vids for the memorial day march bomb....any takers?

Flames, I think you know how I feel about your vid, since I am the one who got it put on our site. :) But......I'll say it anyway. It is moving, it is motivating, it is classy. It does not have a militant or violant feel to it in any way. It has an activist feel to it, there is a difference, and if you've been one (an activist) as long as I have, you know the difference.

See, I knew there was a reason I really like you:p lol.

But seriously...thank you. I never intended for it to be a violent promo...and it's nice when ppl realize that.
