Anyone in Iowa planning to deliver a speech at his/her caucus? If so please make a pledge at www.stumpforpaul.com so we can keep track of our progress to identify speakers.

Note: If you are from out-of-state and want to volunteer in Iowa, there will probably be a couple hundred precincts without anyone to deliver 2 minute speeches. Just connect with the official campaign to see what precincts need attention or email the grassroots at: [email protected]

We created a website to try to motivate Iowan Ron Paul supporters to deliver 2 minute speeches. Precinct captains will most likely be the ones delivering speeches. However that may not always be the case. In Jefferson County a group of Ron Paul supporters in one precinct held a speech competition and the winners delivered the speech. That seemed to work out really well.

www.stumpforpaul.com is a website and resource to help Ron Paul supporters deliver powerful speeches. The website will also track the number of people who pledge to deliver speeches by county so we can measure our progress of identifying speakers.

Stump for Paul

Stump for Paul is a grassroots effort to get at least one Ron Paul supporter in each of the 1,784 neighborhood precincts in Iowa to deliver a powerful and moving speech for Ron Paul at the Republican Iowa Caucuses on Tuesday, January 3rd at 7pm.

What is a Republican Iowa Caucus and how can I help Ron Paul win?

A Republican caucus is a meeting of Republican voters in a local neighborhood ranging from a small group of people to as many as 300 or more. Voters at the meeting elect delegates and local party representatives as well as conduct a Presidential Straw Poll. There is a meeting in each of the 1,784 local neighborhoods (called precincts) at schools, churches, and public libraries all across Iowa. The Presidential straw poll of the Iowa Caucus is the most important part of the meeting and is held at the beginning. During the straw poll election there is an opportunity for at least one person to speak on behalf of Ron Paul for 2 minutes. Delivering a powerful speech is the BEST way to help Ron Paul win the election because there are many undecided voters who attend the caucuses. Please pledge TODAY to deliver a speech at the caucus and help Ron Paul win the most important state of the entire election! The results of the Iowa Caucuses will most likely make or break Ron Paul's final chance to be President!

The Iowa Caucus will be held on Tuesday, January 3rd at 7pm in your local neighborhood precinct polling location. To find your location visit: www.sos.state.ia.us The vote tally will be counted across all 1,784 precincts in the state and the candidate with the most votes will be announced as the winner of the Republican Iowa Caucuses, the first election in the nation for the Republican nomination. If you are not registered Republican you should be able to register Republican at the caucus, but please register Republican as soon as possible to be sure you can participate.

In our calling efforts to Iowa with rp2012.org, we found that many Ron Paul supporters are hesitant to deliver speeches at the caucus so we want to provide a resource to inspire and encourage people to deliver powerful speeches. This website will be a resource for sample speeches and videos. (We are working on an online speech competition and the top videos will be posted)

Chainspell... can you create a video w/ maybe with a blend of great speakers (JFK/MLK/Reagan/Goldwater)...Ron Paul..add a bit of Kokesh... and grassroots Ron Paul supporters (like in the We the People video) to create a 2 minute promo video to inspire people to stump for Ron Paul? Maybe do something similar to We the People where you piece together a 2 minute speech from various statements from different people.

If anyone has any comments about the 2 minute caucus speeches feel free to respond to this post.

BTW here is a video of why the caucus speeches are so important:

Stump for Paul in Iowa YouTube Video Speech Contest

November 26, 2011: Over the next two weeks Ron Paul supporters around the world will participate in an exciting and challenging event -- Stump for Paul in Iowa YouTube Video Speech Contest.

Contestants will produce a two-minute video of a speech which would be appropriate to give at an Iowa caucus in support of Ron Paul.

Sometime before December 15 at 11:59 PM contestants must (1) upload their video entry to YouTube and (2) submit their entry to the administrator.

Entries will be judged on content, delivery, and camera work/sound/appearance/background. Judges include Thomas E. Woods and John Dennis.

“These videos will serve to encourage and inspire others to deliver stump speeches at the January 3, 2012 Iowa caucus. If we get Ron Paul supporters from Iowa and elsewhere to deliver moving and powerful speeches all across Iowa we can give Ron Paul a boost and push him over the top for victory," says Jun Dam, administrator of Stump for Paul in Iowa YouTube Video Speech Contest.

Prizes for this contest total $1100. All entries will receive two Ron Paul bumper stickers.

More details on the contest, including a complete list of the official rules, can be found here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OtXNJb55ZlQ.

I am a bit unsure as to the process of these caucuses in Iowa. How do they determine the precinct captains and also what kind of speech is most effective to get more support for Ron Paul?
I guess I should add I'm up in the nw corner of Iowa-Cherokee County.

I don't have the ability to make a video speech, but here's a short speech I wrote if someone wants to use it:

Ladies and Gentlemen, thank you for coming tonight. We have an extremely important task to accomplish here tonight and the fact that you all came here to participate shows how valuable each of you are.

We have a choice to make. The choice is not simply about which candidate will defeat Obama, it's about how we fix the mess our government has gotten us into. All the candidates are running against Obama, but there is only one candidate running against the idea that government can fix these problems. It should be clear by now that government only makes these things worse. We all know this is true about the economy and domestic issues, but this is also true of this liberal foreign policy our government has been employing.

There is only one candidate who is offering real consistent conservative policies. And that candidate has never been a flip-flopper. That candiate has ALWAYS stayed true to the constitution, even when it is unpopular to do so. That candidate served honorably in our military. That candidate has always stayed true to his vows to his country, to his family, and to God. That candidate will NEVER let you down. And that candidate is Ron Paul.

I know that there are some that will tell you that Dr. Paul is not electable, but look around. When we elect Ron Paul, we will not only get a true conservative, but we will also get an army of dedicated supporters willing to do everything they can to make sure he's successful. No other candidate can bring with him that kind of support. And young people! When is the last time we had a Republican candidate that could inspire young people and bring them into the process?

Tonight we have the opportunity to tell the media that they do not pick our candidate. We have a real opportunity to return this nation to our constitutional principles. This is a very exciting time and this all begins right here tonight! Let's do this thing! Vote to restore America! Vote for Ron Paul.

Thank you.

Try to find out who the County Coordinator is over there to see how you can help... they are always looking for precinct captains and help!

I'll try to find out who the coordinator is there too...

Is one of these threads stickied? They now want people from all over the country to come into Iowa on the night of the caucus and make a speech for Ron Paul. This is part of an organized effort to make sure that there's a Ron Paul person at every precinct. This doesn't appear to be part of the official campaign, and the official campaign might be doing the same thing, but I'm certainly in favor of a project that is based on people doing important tasks on the most important day in a systematic manner.
I'd also recommend, if they aren't doing so already, that they all get the results, and report the results to many places. I'm am very pleased that rp2012.org is on top of this, and can act as a type of clearing house for this data.

Hey, Juliet Annerino here, creator of the "Pin ups for Ron Paul" 2012 Calendar! Hope everyone here is enjoying the Holiday Season:)

Anyone here in Iowa or planning to be there for the Caucuses? Wish I could be there to give speeches in support of Dr.Paul and to sell calendars to people there who want them! Unfortunately, I am stuck here in Los Angeles, but i'd love to get a bunch of calendars out to some one n Iowa who would like to get them out to people for me. I'd be willing to ship them out ASAP - maybe 20 or so - and offer some enthusiastic person a nice, healthy commission for selling what they can, plus two free calendars for themselves if they promise to display them proudly!;)

I want you all to understand this, too. The main reason I put the vast amount of time, energy and $ into this project this year (as I did in '08 with the "Hotties for Ron Paul" Calendar) is to raise awareness for Ron Paul's philosophy and political stance. Each page includes not just a photo of a Liberty-lovin' female activist for Dr.Paul, but a quote from a famous author, philosopher or historical figure along with a complimentary quote from Ron Paul explaining his views on important issues like non-intervention, economics, civil liberties, etc. I see the calendar as a powerful tool for getting the word out about Ron Paul and his message of Peace & Freedom.

Please reach me ASAP at (310)666-2544 or [email protected] if you want to take me up on this or if you know some one who might be interested. Thank you so much. Keep up the good work!

Merry/Happy/Ron Paul 2012,
Juliet

Ron Paul needs as many out-of-state volunteers as possible for the Iowa caucus on January 3rd. You may be needed to help as a precinct captain or deliver a speech. There are many things you can do to gain votes on caucus day. If you are from Iowa's neighboring states like Illinois, Minnesota, Nebraska, Missouri, Wisconsin you should definitely find a way to make a road trip to Iowa for the Caucus. Anybody with the means to get to Iowa should go. Please email us at: [email protected] if you are interested. Our goal is to get 200 extra volunteers to Iowa and connect with the campaign to fill in where necessary. Note: This is in addition to those participating in Christmas Vacation for Ron Paul. Let's make it happen! So who's in?
