(STUDY) What is the personality of a Ron Paul Supporter?

Also, might want to consider the personality types who are willing to use forums. Then, consider the personality types that will actually post things.

There are more lurkers than posters.

So this assessment is based on form-users who are active posters. This is toward a specific demographic. This is a very unscientific study. Just so you know.

Look at the data on the google doc. At the time of writing it was up to 576 responses. I'd imagine a lot of lurkers just put their results in without posting. :) Of course it's unscientific.

I find it funny that some of the responses in this thread are actually further showing your personality types. lol

I am an INTP "Architect" married to an ENTJ "Field Marshall". It works -- I decide what needs to be done, and he makes everyone do it :) We are both RP supporters and both are rocking the NT.

I wish we had information on sex demographics as well. My guess is that this explains why RP supporters are overwhelmingly male. Rationals (NTs) are the rarest types, and tend to be male. It also explains why I feel so peculiar whenever I am in a group of women -- because I am!

I'm surprised that so many Paul supporters are introverts. That isn't what I expected at all. The sign waves, the confrontations with supporters of other candidates, media personalities, etc, the willingness to engage in meetups, forums and twitter discussions.... all seem rather extrovert to me

It's high motivation overcoming natural inclination. If society were already built around defending individual liberty, I don't think most of us would seek out media appearances.

Na, liberty minded people just want to be left alone. lol

The people doing the sign waves are probably the extroverts in the group to be honest. My husband absolutely hates doing stuff like that and I'm always trying to get him to want to do it. He's an INFJ. This also explains why we have most of our support online too. Engaging in activities online is actually an introvert's best way to express themselves.

As others have pointed out, this survey is only of Ron Paul supporters ON AN INTERNET FORUM. At least where I live, those sign wavers communicate via twitter and Meetup. I doubt anyone else in my meetup even goes on RP forums.

I think the only thing we have just proven that people who sit at home on the internet are introverted. No big surprise. The fact that they are also mostly NT (Rational thinkers) is more telling because it doesn't have as much to do with means of social interaction (or lack thereof).

but my "organization" skills are very high(judging) depending on the priority of something. The question about organizing a desk?its irrelevant..to me disorganization is sometimes my own way of organizing things to where I know where stuff is at and could care less if other people couldnt find it lol.

To be honest I hold these tests as a grain of salt considering that people are vastly different too deep to be summed up by 100 vague questions

LMAO ;)

Your Type is
INTJ
Introverted Intuitive Thinking Judging
Strength of the preferences %
22 38 1 67

looks like i dont think that much, but i actually do think a lot :(

I saw someone stating he has an IQ of 140. I wonder if there are Mensa members around here.
Did someone do a poll about IQ as well?
and what about EQ? :D

I've taken the MBTI many times. INTJ every single time! I'm a member of a few other message boards where the people actually think instead of accepting the conventional wisdom. Similar polls and threads have been conducted on these other boards, with the same result.

It's obviously unscientific, but I think there is something to it in this case. Personality tends to be one of those traits that remains stable over time.

In other words, if we put together a focus group of 45 people, specifically distributed thus:

10 ISFJ
8 ISTJ
9 ESFJ
6 ESTJ
7 ISFP
5 ESFP

and produce a messaging campaign that the focus group overwhelmingly likes, I believe that campaign will do a very good job of reaching out to the people who are currently turned off by Ron Paul.

BEST IDEA EVER!!!!!!!

That was my first thought as well. Then I did some additional research on the test and found these are "preferences" of the test taker.

I have done a significant amount of public speaking and thoroughly enjoyed it. Being a INTJ did not prevent me from participating in what would be called "extroverted" activities. However I am happy to be in the background if someone else wants to take the lead.

I think it is possible that Ron Paul supporters who would congregate on a forum on the internet where they can be by themselves at a computer and yet, have some connection to other people... maybe it is that aspect that makes it introverted.

Actually, one of the traits that people will use to judge your personality trait (J or P), is how your desk looks. Spotless, organized desk is J, messy desk is P. Many managers use this for determining who should be considered for management. Messy desk generally removes you from the list, unless your manager is also a P.

For short time-frames (say a high priority project), Ps can actually be better organized and more efficient than Js, but the personality indicators are intended to describe your every day preferences.
