Study reveals almost complete Ron Paul media blackout in Florida

Would be interesting if Doug Wead had this info and the campaign could create a press release. Mention how the media is "creating the choices" and that Santorum who also skipped the debate got as much coverage as Newt. (if they decide that "he skipped" is a viable rebuttal).

BOYCOTT!!! After this election cycle is over, I hope we focus our anger and angst at the media ^^. They work for evil, therefore they should be dealt with!

Guys, we very publicly walked away from Florida. do you really expect media to cover someone who won't even bother campaigning there?

Relax. The ball's on our side of the field now... the Great American West.

The media's job isn't to pick and choose. Fair and Balanced Journalism only exists, if a close share is given to each candidate.

This is what happens when only a handful of huge corporations buy up every available media outlet, from national to local. They dictate everything that people see and hear.

Like George Carlin said "They got ya by the BALLS!"

Yeah ^^, I hope the west will be more receptive of RP.

Maybe it's time we ask Jon Stewart & Colbert to create another "Rally to Restore Sanity," against the media bias.

I was going to say it wouldn't help, but it did last time. they spoke quite a bit about being charged with not covering him. Not much, unfortunately, about his actual positions....

Florida is where GOP primary campaigns go to die. Ron knows this. Doesn't anyone remember Rudy in 2007? He bet it all on Florida and got smashed big time. Florida is the home of Rush Limbaugh, Jeb Bush, Rick Scott and a stolen election in the year 2000. Florida is THE Neo-Con stronghold. Ron and his campaign are smart. It would have been foolish to spend 1 single cent in a state that cannot be won. As another poster has mentioned, now were on better turf the Great American West. Ron Paul is a southwest candidate whose message appeals far better to those of us in the West than those in the northeast. Remember, Ronald Reagan didn't win a single state out of the first 6 contests. Reagan was a Californian, popular in the west not the south and northeast. I expect Ron Paul to do quite well in the west and I believe California will become a final battleground state between he and Romney with Ron and liberty pacs spending up to 10million here

One more thing... The people from Endorse Liberty, Peter Thiel and Scott Banister are wealthy bay area northern california libertarians. I believe endorse liberty will spend a fortune in advertising in California.

Sounds like they're talking local print and broadcast. The stories for the other candidates would be like:

"Romney Rally in Tampa"
"Newt Pushes Moonbase at the Cape"
"Santorum Spotted at Applebee's" (he was in Florida before his girl got sick)

There would be nothing to report locally about Ron Paul. He wasn't there. I don't think you can count the Florida blackout on the media, they were just covering the events in their own towns.

Wow, I knew it was bad but 1%? You would almost think they'd give him a little bit more to avoid losing all credibility with anyone paying attention.

I guess most folks just aren't paying attention yet :(

Thanks for posting.

Santorum skipped too, yet he got 20%, like Newt. Explain that if your logic is sound.

Paul was the only candidate without a win coming in to Florida. Santorum also didn't have his campaign coming out flaunting the skipping of the State. Ron Paul has a history of ignoring Florida media.

Yeah, he gets blacked out, but he also completely punted the state.

If I hit the lottery and donated ALL of the $120 million net after taxes to Ron Paul's campaign and every penny was spent in Florida before the primary it STILL wouldn't have been a drop in the bucket compared to the free mention of all the other candidates. If we don't see it by now nothing will make us see it.
We're not running against Romney, Gingrich or Santorum or even Obama. We're running against the powers behind them all. The most dangerous enemy of our country, the world, the environment, to freedom
