Thank you the suggestion. I am, however, happily Catholic, and I don't think the Church is at all a create of the state -- it has never had a problem telling the authorities no when its prerogatives were threatened. They prefer to pick their fights, and the requirement to get a marriage license is merely a nuisance that makes the authorities happy.

Is your church a 501c3? Is it limited to what it can say, like no politics?

I honestly don't know what the Catholic Church's status is in America; it might be different because it is headed by a sovereign of another state.

Well, if it requires you to get a State license, I doubt it is sovereign. It is a corporation. It answers to the laws of men, not God.

Well I don't think they would stop marrying people if the government told them to stop doing it.

Honestly, it doesn't really matter to me -- it's my religion, so if they want me to get a license, I will do it.

but that is exactly what they did. they let a govt requirement dictate policy. one might even argue that they let the govt marriage supercede the religious one since you can't get the religious one without it.

I've seen girls in strip clubs claiming to be "working for college money" for 15 years.

These are hookers who happened to go to college, not "debt slaves". I don't care how much money I owe, I'm not selling my @$$. This is a ridiculous excuse some hookers use to justify it to themselves. We aren't talking about people who have serious moral reservations...the smallest excuse will suffice.

Until hookers are banned from getting other jobs, I will not believe the ol' okie doke line "my circumstances forced me into it". Unless your circumstances included a person with a gun to your head, and still does, stfu hookers...lol.

After the U.S military invaded Iraq and large numbers of Iraqi men were dead and or gone, many Iraqi women turned to prostituting themselves at home and abroad. Shouldn't surprise or upset anyone, right ? It has happened almost evertime, what's the big deal ?

Yes you can be truly happy without sex. Happiness is not dependant on sex. Happiness is dependant on truly knowing Christ. You can be truly happy without ever having sex.

This is not to downplay sex as a blessing from God in the marriage covenant, its just to say happiness does not depend on it.

I don't think the article is talking about men keeping mistresses, but rather young women prostituting themselves to pay their bills.

Still with the collectivism, I see... Thomas Paine didn't seem to have any problems hooking up with the ladies, and he was from where ?

Also, you seem to miss the point entirely, my post was pointing out that the U.S. and world's corrupt monetary policies lead to such situations as the young women in article and war victims mentioned above.
