Romney is smooth, but he's nothing next to Huckabee's smoothness.

Guiliani is a fucking idiot.

Romney is a fucking Idiot

McCain needs to find something other than Vietnam to be prideful of.

Duncan Hunter should have been there.

Ron Paul is an Island of Freedom.

Fred Thompson said "that means a dollar should stay in the pocket of the one who earned it, unless the government can make the case that they can spend it better."

yeah i agree with you, i cringed when thompson said that too. i wasn't saying i agreed with everything he said or everyone else who did well in the debate, i'm just saying (fairly objectively because i'm biased for ron paul) that they did better debating than ron paul did.

Yeah, people understand this kind of talk. The good doc really needs to work on using language to describe his points with which people can identify.

I think it's in combination with the consensus that this one of his best debates. There was one where we all just about threw up. This was not one of them.

Exactly. To many of us long suffering Ron Paul supporters, that debate was a masterpiece.

i'm surprised that i've caught slack on this forum for speaking my mind and disappointment with ron paul's performance tonight. is that such a bad thing to say? i'm not a thompson supporter, my first post on this forum was weeks ago trying to find a ride to iowa to campaign for ron paul so shut your presumptious mouth.

Your opinion is respected. Depends on how you look at it. He did do an excellent job in the second half, especially with the Obama/Oil questioning. But he did terrible during the first foreign policy "battle". The whole team of neo-cons teamed up on him and nobody let him speak and explain his views. The idiot moderator let them team up on him without any remorse for Dr. Paul. Paul should have yelled at the others to stop interrupting them and trying to corrupt the audiences' minds into believing he is wrong just because the majority thinks he is wrong. I think he won in the end (he always finishes nicely), but anyone of the fringe of support for him based on the war will have opted out for sure after tonight's debate

I thought when Dr. Paul spoke, he was brilliant. He didn't stammer around, he made people laugh AND if you'll remember, he got the only illegal applause of the evening.

Romney strong manned everyone and my mom wont vote for him
Giulianni is a idiot she wont vote for him
Mccain is a idiot she won't vote for him
Huckabee makes sense and was respectful
Ron Paul left the biggest impression on her but she thinks it will be hard for him to be taken seriously by congress and how realistically can it be expected that his views be put in place without support of the senate.

Can't remember what pundit said it, but he called the huckster teflon man, said "what is it about Arkansas?", said the Ark press can't stand him there.

What's up in the crowd there, i've only heard clapping once! and it was one guy. Do more intelligent crowds clap less? Perhaps.
They were told at the beginning of the debate: No applause. Therefore, that RP received applause makes it that much more meaningful.

thank you for that explanation... i guess my feelings were just different with this one. i hated how he allowed himself to be bullied. and my biggest thought was- how can he lead a nation when he gets run over like that? i think a huge part of it was the gang mentality of the other candidates against ron paul. i think if we were on that stage we would have felt a large sense of negativity against us... ron paul is speaking a message that is highly criticized. i understand his timidity but this is not the time at all to be humble.

Yes, I saw this part and just loved it-especially after the others, esp. Romney, were smirking and laughing at him.

I love whomever the people who did the "illegal" clapping are! Bravo, Patriots!

One of the biggest problems with these debates is Ron Paul's failure to STRESS and DIFFERENTIATE his free market solutions versus the micro-managing of ever increasing federal programs. Ron should REPEATEDLY emphasize the fact that every time Guiliani *, McCain *, Thompson, Romney, and Huckabee state WE NEED TO DO THIS OR THAT, the size of the federal government just grew by another $Billion and a few hundred people.

WE, WE, WE , WE .... that 's ALL anyone hears from these profligate, warmongering fools.

* especially these two ...

and when it happened, it lit a fire in Ron Paul and he dominated from there on out.

We give him his energy

It takes a stong man to be silent in heat of battle, only a fool is loud when nothing good comes out of it.

Thompson and McCain are chasing the same neocon voters so the longer Thompson lingers the less votes McCain will receive.
