...POTUS Ron Paul would cause Iranian Nukes in Cuba?!?!

h xxp://www.nationalreview.com/corner/286870/king-warns-gop-if-paul-wins-iranian-nuclear-missiles-cuba-robert-costa

This dude is insane. Also, he says all the evangelicals don't want Bachmann because she's a woman. So in summation, evangelicals are all crazy women haters in Iowa and Ron will allow Nukes in Cuba.

“Our presence around the globe has been paid for by a tremendous amount of blood and treasure,” he says. “We are the force for security around the globe. If we had a commander-in-chief who pulled back military operations and brought it all back to the United States, and took a position that we would not intervene in foreign conflicts and only if attacked on our shores, there would be a huge power vacuum.”

“That giant sucking sound would draw in the Chinese, the Russians, Hugo Chavez, and others up into our shores and into the Caribbean,” King says, speculating on a Paul administration. “To paint an image of what I think it looks like under a Ron Paul presidency, it would be Iranian nuclear missiles placed in Cuba and Katyusha rockets in Tijuana. Neither of those situations would bother Ron Paul and that’s a calamity, that’s catastrophic.”

watching these people talk out of both sides of their mouths is... *sigh*

"we are the greatest global military force"

"but our military force takes literal proximity to be great"

"so our military force is only good when it's spread throughout the world"

"and if we withdrew from the role of world police, our forces would suck"

President Paul would bring so much economy prosperity to Cuba, they wouldn't want to upset their greatest trade partner. We have shown that we can trade with communists, if Paul is in Office, Cuba would become rich as American's purchase goods, and travel and spend money there.

That poor guy. He really must go through his day terrified.

As for Bachmann, it was a bad image mistake to serve the water at that Thanksgiving value voter event. It gave the evangelicals the signal she was 'biblically called to serve', alright, but not in the way she meant. They apparently wanted her to be Santorums VP. That was when her poll numbers started really falling because they WERE her support.

Why is this thing getting so COMICAL? These media-types must be trying to get a show on Comedy Central.

Ron Paul I don't think ever said he would pull back the Navy over international waters. It is just the bases doing nothing but being a money suck on the ground he wants to pull back.

There was an interview a couple months ago where Paul said utilizing submarine technology is still useful.

Maybe we should reinstate the draft to make him feel more secure.

I wonder why King wasn't drafted, he was 19 in 1968 and wasn't in college throughout the war.

Just recently Ron said on one of the Sunday shows that nuclear submarines and long range missiles are better than occupation for laying the ground for preparedness. I think China agrees, given what they are putting into nuclear submarines, themselves.

Neocon influenced blogs I've seen are also pushing the idea that Iran is going to arm Venezuela with North Korean missiles that will be aimed at Miami, Florida.

I don't want to be scared of the boogeymen across the ocean anymore. The only way that's going to happen is if we elect Ron Paul.

Something to look into... for his primary challenger...

Ok I looked it up and he would have been drafted in 1969, that year they did the first draft lottery for people born 1944-1950. Rep. King was born on May 28, 1949 so he was eligible. His birthday got the number 308, and the highest number called up for service was 195 out of 366 total numbers so he was safe.

Interestingly, Mitt Romney got number 300 meaning even if he had no gotten college and missionary deferments he still would not have been drafted. I find this convenient for him considering Romney was extremely pro-Vitnam war during his time in France, but all along he knew his chances of being drafted was pretty much zero.

Neither Newt nor Ron were eligible for te draft lotteries, they were born 1943 and 1935 respectively. Newt was drafted but got a deferment for college. I don't know how Ron was actually drafted, he was already 28, married and had 3 children in 1963 when he entered the armed forces. Perry got number 275 in the same lottery as Romney and King but was not called up. He later joined the Air Force on his own in 1972 and served 5 years.

And we'd miss Miami why exactly? :D
I love Miami. Go there often:

This is especially amusing; as RP regularly talks about taking Kennedy's lead and using diplomacy to prevent these types of events. Last I checked, Kennedy was successful in keeping/removing the nukes out of cuba. What King is suggesting is that Kennedy should have instituted a nuclear war instead of using diplomacy.

I go there quite often too, it was my second home, but I'd not miss the place.

I was joking of course but, it is a flawed notion to even preface a FP chat in the first place, based on warped 'knowledge' and no understanding of what they see, only what they WANT for their power.
