This thread is part of a process intended on developing a PAC name that is completely decided upon by the grassroots here.

Step 3: Runoff vote
If a simple majority is not reached in the first forum vote, the top THREE (3) vote-getters from the first vote will be entered into a "runoff" vote. This vote will be held in a poll on Liberty Forest. The voting will be open for THREE (3) days.

The choices are above. Vote for the one you like best, and in three days, we'll officially have a name. Thanks all :)

Constitutional Alliance Fund sounds awesome
malkusm isnt it time for the conway link to go? lol

We should consider our audience and allies when choosing a name. We need a name that appeals to our core base while not scaring away untapped members and alliances.

The Bill of Rights Coalition is great because it encompasses interests of all our major audiences. Our allies on the left love the 1st and 4th amendment. Our allies in the Tea Party love the 2nd and 10th amendment. We will fight for them all, and we can draw support from both sides.

Also consider that this will be a multi-state PAC, so the Coaliton suffix is fitting.

not a fan of the choices, but "Bill of Rights PAC" doesn't sound militant like "Constitutional Alliance Fund" or gehy like "Rightful Remedy PAC"

:(

At what point will you run the name past legal? If they are so inclined, BoR Institute could slap a cease and desist on you for that name I'll bet.

Voted for the first choice for the reason Nate stated. AUH20's point is a good one.

I still say "American States for a Constitutional Republic" is not too long considering you can always shorten it when speaking about it. (i.e. American States PAC, ASCR, etc.)

it's not militant, gehy, or already taken.

I originally voted for "Rightful Remedy PAC," but now I think Constitutional Alliance Fund is much better. It has an easy ring to it, and gets the message across. Not to mention, only the most radical liberals out there disregard the Constitution.

What, claim brand dilution? Possible. Are they pricks like that? But does anyone own "Bill of Rights"?

What about Human Rights Coalition? Probably already taken. If not, would this not convey the purpose clearly and with a non-partisan, non-confrontational swing?

It's not a matter of them being pricks. You start going out and doing anything at all, and you would be immediately associated with them; that gives them cause. You can't roll anything like this out and not do your due diligence.

Human Rights Campaign, a pro-homosexual group, would have you dead to rights on "Human Rights Coalition."

Despite being the one that suggested the Bill of Rights PAC, I haven't voted yet. I'm really torn between Constitutional Alliance Fund (CAF-PAC) and Bill of Rights Coalition (BoRC-PAC).

AuH2O also brings up a good point about the name conflicts. If BoRC-PAC wins, perhaps we should consult with an attorney or even reach out to the Bill of Rights Institute to see if there will be any problems. If that's the case, I think we should adopt CAF-PAC.

Essentially, if the name Bill of Rights Coalition is determined to potentially cause unnecessary legal annoyances, let's go to the second highest vote getter (CAF-PAC).

I still haven't decided which name I'm going to vote for...

Yeah, we'll certainly clear any name before we use it and the voting method we used allows us to fall back on "next-best" alternatives, should we encounter problems.
