Stefan Molyneux is banned from Youtube

By a making a comment that I see left wing boobuses and right wing theocrats make. Just because you support the legality of something doesn't mean you support it. I support legalizing all drugs. I am not "happy" and I am not supportive of people ruining their lives with drugs.

Keep clinging to that principle until they come and march you to the gulags.

I don't see having basic principles as something requiring will power like a diet to stick to. This an easy. Property rights and markets work. If there is a demand for tolerant social media platforms, it will be filled.

Let the government do what it wants, if there is a market for non-totalitarian governments it will be filled.

Apparently VISA is one of the decision makers, they are the ones effectively shutting down GAB. So we would need to have a demand for a free speech credit card processing company. I'm not sure that is the easiest market to break into.

Oh well, another good reason to switch to bitcoin.

If you don't believe in markets what would your connection to Ron Paul be? This is about the most basic and most important liberty concept.

You are comparing starting a new government which requires violence to starting a social media company which requires skills. There are millions of businesses. If there is a need, entrepreneurs fill that need. They have a thing called a profit motive. Works quite well.

Molyneux is an obnoxious SOB but even he shouldn't be banned from YT.

This, the man is annoying and wrong most of the time but this is no reason to ban the man. Debate him, counter his videos with your videos but do not ban him. This ban is now everywhere, real people are being canceled, vloggers are taken off video platforms, twitter accounts being shadow and outright banned and people in political forums are being banned/censored for no good reason. This nonsense has to stop at some point.

Don't count on it...

Compare my join date to yours. There's more to life than the economy. Governments are there to protect our rights. Do you believe that an old woman should be refused the opportunity to purchase heating oil because she tweeted something that offended a three people?

Youtube loses like a billion dollars per year. How do you compete with a company that can afford to do that?

Mind you people seem to think their are no barriers to entry for competitors to put in new roads that service your house.

Technocrats are censoring anyone who provides rational arguments against the usurping of power.

Molyneuxs Utopia included $10k rewards for reporting neighbours with unregistered firearms.

When it dawned on him that liberty inevitably meant race mixing he went full fash.

Still a very bad sign that he was banned tho.

I don't think there's a libertarian solution to this. Or if there is, it's so far off and unfeasible there might as well not be.

The future belongs to hierarchical megacorps. The only question is who they serve.

There is a solution. Joe Rogan just left YouTube and got paid $100 million to take his podcast exclusively to Spotify. So people who love Rogan will go there.

Here's my point. Back when Alex Jones got banned, Stefan should have seen the writing on the wall and diversified his tech portfolio. YouTube is powerful because the people on it make it powerful. Don't wait until you're kicked off to do something. Do something. Every YouTuber that is having issues being demonitized, which is a prelude to deplatforming, should have a snippet at the end of their video that says "And for my premium content go to X" whatever "X" is. Use YouTube to freely advertise its competition. Mirror every YouTube video on another platform and have exclusive content on the other platform. It's not rocket science.

Competitors already exist. They don't have to be built. They only have to be used. People with a big enough audience need to move their. And the audience needs to adjust. Hell, look at this place. THE ONLY VIDEOS YOU CAN POST INLINE AT RONPAULFORUMS.COM ARE YOUTUBE VIDEOS! We complain, complain, complain, and can't even do the software fix to offer competition to YouTube here. We're our own "barrier to entry."

I post on some of the competitiors. Scale will kill them if they ever get it. Bitchute uses some peer stuff but not enough.

On the $10K thing, was in a video dealing with the problem of the rouge billionaire. He never actually did address the rouge billionaire just cases leading up to it.

He's also totally cool with blackboxes in every car etc. Total surveillance shared between trans national corporations is fine as long as its not the "state" doing it.

There is a huge disconnect in libertarian streams between people who want all sorts of people to live together with minimum fuss, and people like Hoppe/Molyneux, who want a huge social machine enforcing a rigid culture and just don't call it a state.
