I signed up on the Campaign site through the Precinct leader button for NC, but, I'm already a precinct delegate by default since no one else wanted to do it.

I've been trying to find info on PA, and found this:

HARRISBURG, Pa. - Would-be Pennsylvania delegates to the 2008 presidential-nominating conventions are scrambling to beat Tuesday's deadline for getting their names on the April 22 primary ballot.

The "Tuesday deadline" was last Tuesday.

While Republican voters will be able to register their presidential preference on the primary ballot, all 74 of the Pennsylvania GOP delegates will be officially uncommitted , not bound to support any candidate, at the convention.

Sixty-one of those Republican delegates will be elected to seats apportioned among the state's 19 congressional districts, but the ballot will not reflect whom the candidates prefer for president. The other 13 will be picked by state GOP leaders or are automatically selected because of party offices they hold.

It sounds to be like we can vote for delegates at the PA primary but there will be no indication of whom the candidates prefer for president. (?)

Hopefully we'll have a list of RP supporters running for delegates before the PA primary?

I heard somewhere that some states can change rules for the delegates by a majority vote of the state delegates. In other words, if there was a majority of Ron Paul supporters as delegates in a state where they were bound to vote for McCain at the national convention, they could vote themselves to be unbound when they get to the national convention.

If this is true, and we get organized enough to do it in just a couple bigger states, it could completely flip things on end when it comes to the national convention.

If this is true, I would think it sorta of sneaky to do that. Besides, I'm sure in some states, they have laws to bound delegates to winner of their election.

It'll be a tough sell if our nominee won by a technical foul, you know?


But definitely yes on organizing; as I keep saying, send enough delegates, bound to Paul or not, and Paul wins, even if he doesn't get the nomination.

Nevada county conventions are on March 8th. we are studying Robert's Rules of order, and studying the county and state by-laws. we're expecting the county GOP to try and change the rules at the last minute. they have tried to sabotage us every step of the way. I'm sick of dealing with these corrupt Republicans, but we should dominate in my county convention.

Great; this is important. By playing and knowing the rules, this give us an advantage.

Don't forget to keep records of what goes on. This may come in handy.

not sure if we can assume HQ will take action in every state, we have to take maximum responsibility. Pick a state, see how the convention works, what happens there, what are the rules. This is surely under discussed.
