Goals:

Support grassroots efforts in local, state, and presidential elections. That is, give the people and lessons learned from 2012 and 2008 a home base which will be focused on supporting their efforts. Need buses, printing services, parliamentarians, venues, sound equiment, planning and consultation, etc, the Ron Paul Legacy Pac could use resources to facilitate and get the word out.

The pac would take votes online from vetted grassroots to guide its efforts.
The pac would be debt free, that is, operate on a cash basis.
The pac would be selective and would not devote resources for efforts/candidates violating key Ron Paul principles

It's over. The Revolution died today.

I don't think so.

There are only two things that have inspired me this whole time: Ron Paul and the grassroots. Ron Paul and the delegates collected by the grassroots will be together in Tampa and the media will eat crow about their delegate counts up to that point. There will be a ruckus and Ron Paul will inspire. I believe he is likely to push for peace and calm, but not to compromise. In Tampa the Revolution grows up and discovers the magnitude of the task before it and that it must go forward on its own. Remember, the revolution is about an idea in the minds of many, it is not about the man who broke through.

I want to share your enthusiasm but part of me wants to just worry about protecting myself now instead of donating time and money to anything else further.

A friend of mine keeps trying to sell me on moving to a country that's booming and leave this mess behind, like he's planning on doing. Don't know that I'll ever be ready to do that. I tell him some people have to stay and fight here, if only because if liberty loses here where will anyone truly be able to escape to in the future?

Psht, no one could ever kill the Revolution that is in my heart. As they say in the military... I'm a lifer.

I know some of you have all your eggs in the Ron Paul basket, but IF that fails, you all need to consider your life-long plans to continue this movement. If we truly desire Ron Paul in the presidency there is more than 1 way to do that and that is to fulfill his principles and make them so pervasive in the party that we determine every election for the next 20-30 years.

I don't believe in this idea that only Ron Paul has what it takes to be principled as he has been. Are we to believe every one of us that will follow in his footsteps is destined to be corruptible, unlike him? Sorry, I am one that is not. I am also working on grooming my best friend to run for office and he is not.

Will the Ron Paul Republicans please stand up.

I'd be interested in this idea. We need a 'lobbying' mechanism within the party for the future as well. A team of people who can dedicate resources to helping liberty candidates. One thing I'd like to see is a 'Liberty Pledge' on Ron Paul's principles that gets put in front of every GOP candidate nationwide. If they don't sign, our contingent will vote against them.

Agreed. This "Liberty Pledge" could be drafted online and different versions voted on. Then it could go for a final vote to "ratify" it. This could work concurrently with http://libertycandidates.com/mission-statement/ and any other sites the PAC could partner with to vet candidates.

I'd donate to one, but you'll have to raise a ton of money, and get people like Tom Woods and Doug Wead on board.

I thought of joining the LGBT movement. I have just as much in common with them as I do the GOP. Absolutely nothing...

Oh and they don't like me either:)

Can't we just run with this?

There's a few to choose from already. I receive emails from Young Americans for Liberty, and there is a YAL PAC. I've donated to YAL and have not seen anything to discourage more donations. I really dig the campaign training events they host. Below is an email I received from YAL yesterday about the PAC:

Mr. [deadfish],

I have two important updates to share with you.

First, just this week I mailed a check for $14,130 to the Thomas Massie (KY-4) campaign from the YAL PAC. If you contributed, thank you again for supporting our special interest -- the U.S. Constitution -- and to elect principled, pro-liberty candidates.

You see, as a result of YAL bundling your contributions, Massie knows the liberty movement supports his strict constitutional stances. With Ron Paul retiring, we need more "Champions of the Constitution" in Congress, and we're confident Thomas Massie can carry the torch.

Secondly, in addition to your financial support for Massie's campaign, YAL's political arm is busy calling Kentucky's 4th district to inform voters about the issues. We want to make sure voters are fully aware and educated on our issues before they go vote next week.

And so far, our 20 full-time, YAL-trained, young activists have made 91,000 calls to promote our message in this race!

These hard-working, youth activists are calling Kentucky from 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM seven days a week with no breaks. It's exhausting work, but their energy and commitment to the cause of freedom is truly inspiring.

As a result of their calls, I specifically want to draw your attention to one powerful fact based on our polling:

59.75% of undecided voters will likely support Massie now because of the information we are providing on the issues over the phone.

This is a real, measurable impact. And, to be honest, even I am surprised at how effectively our strategy is paying off.

Let me tell you, I dream of the day when YAL has a multimillion dollar budget, and then you and I will witness our message WIN all across the country.

But for right now, my goal is only to raise only $150,000 in the next two weeks, so we can continue our voter outreach program through May and June.

Will you please give all that you can today?

A significant contribution of $100, $50, or $25 will go directly to YAL's election efforts.

To keep the phones ringing all day, YAL provides food, lodging, and a small stipend for these committed student activists. And, right now, our funds are low.

So, will you please support YAL's fight for the liberty today?

Thank you in advance for your contribution. I am grateful for your ongoing commitment to YAL's projects, and I'll continue to do my best to keep you informed.

For liberty,

Jeff Frazee
Executive Director, YAL

P.S. -- Also, I want to share with you Sen. Rand Paul's endorsement of Thomas Massie he issued this week. You can read it below. Then, please give as much as you can to support YAL's election efforts.
