Special Announcement from campaign HQ

*Be A Ron Paul Delegate North Carolina*

If you support Ron, the best way is to become a delegate at your Republican convention. This is how we earn delegates to the National Convention.

Please sign up below and you will find an option to contact HQ on how to become a delegate. We need you.

Can someone clear up something for me...I may have been a day late. I registered on Jan 31. My voter card says "Registered: Jan31 Issued: Feb1". I dont want to confuse things if I was too late.

Every Republican registered prior to January 31 preceding the Meetings shall be entitled to cast 1 vote, except that the January 31 requirement shall not apply to residents who have moved into the Precinct within 30 days of the Precinct Meeting.

it appears that it had to be PRIOR to jan 31st. doh. youre still good for the Primary Election at least though.

Apparently, I dropped the ball on this one....:( I was registered as Unaffiliated and had been dropped to inactive status since I had not voted in the last two elections.

So, what else can I do regarding delegates? I feel sick in my stomach after reading the thread here http://www.ronpaulforums.com/showthread.php?t=121298 about the importance of delegates.

done.. I hope I can get to the state convention..

If you go to your precinct meeting & are chosen as a delegate (an appointed position not to be confused with precicnt chair, vice-chair or secretary all elected positions) then you can vote at both county & district conventions. I was told that if I go to state convention that I would indeed get to vote. I believe that is because so few from my area actually go to state convention, but I could be wrong here.

Luke-- you can go to conventions anyways & still support your local Ron Paul peeps. God only knows we'll need all the support we can get!

Certainly. First county GOP meeting is later this week with the convention being March 1. I'll be at both and will do whatever they will let me.

Re-reading the rules because of a question in another post. The above quoted rule just says I cannot VOTE. I does not address anything about when a person has to be registered in order to be a delegate as far as I can see.

What that piece is referring to is being registered BEFORE Jan 31st in order to secure a vote at your precinct meetings & following conventions (county, district, state). My daughter just registered last week (turning 18) and she CAN vote in the primaries.

Being registered before Jan 31st entitles a person to a vote at their precinct meeting. You can vote for Chair, vice chair, secretary & however many delegates are designated for your precinct. Then if you are voted as one of them, you can vote on issues at your county convention, etc....
